I read a few weeks back that you could not carry an extra pair of glasses with you in the case. I have perscription sunglasses and dont want them to get lost or stolen in checked bag. Has anyone taken glasses in their case through security and on your flight?
Also, how about non perscription meds like Clairatin for alergies. We live in the Ohio valley and alergies are bad this year. I will need them when we arrive and dont want to purchase them there.
We leave on Thursday this week and trying to get everything in order. Thanks for you info. :sunny:

there are no restrictions on glasses in Canada and the US - I travel with several pairs.

Not sure where you read ANY of this.

The only changes to what you can't carry onto an airplane in the USA are liquids and gels, and there are even some exceptions to that rule. If it's not a liquid and not a gel, there are NO CHANGES to what you can and can't take inside the airplane cabin with you.

I'm not familiar with Claritin, but isn't it in pill form? No issues there.

Visit tsa.gov for all the facts (vs misinformation and speculation on any non-official site, Disney or otherwise related)

There are no restrictions on these items. I carried 2 pairs of eyeglasses and a pair of sunglasses on with no problem. I also had a bottles of excedrin, aspirin, and tablet form pepto bismol and there were no problems. You can bring pretty much anything as long as it is not a weapon/sharp, or a type of liquid or gel.

Think the eyeglass thing came from the restrictions imposed for flights out of London on 8/10.... as I recall, you could only carry on a few items in a clear plastic bag. Glasses were Ok but the case was not. Those restrictions were not imposed in the US and have been loosened in Europe I believe.

Glasses, no problem. You can also carry up to 4 oz. of eye drops or contact solution, if needed. Had no problem with this when I flew the very end of August.
