I was reading some things. This is were I get myself into trouble. LOL. Anyway are the mugs really only 12oz? That is the size of a can of pop. I was thinking they would be an oversized mug. Are the prices that high for a small drink to make the mug a good deal? TIA

I'm pretty sure it was $2 a pop (no pun intended :rotfl: ). I remember figuring if I purchased six separate sodas during my stay I would break even. It made sense for me because I knew I'd be eating at least three or four meals at the CBR food court during the week, and that I would drink at least 2 sodas per meal.

Is the mug worth it? It depends. If you are going to spend time at your resort, then it is. If you will only be there to sleep, it is not.

Soda is around $2 each time. 12 oz. sounds about right as far as the size of the refillable mug. You can also fill the mug with hot chocolate, tea, or nescafe/coffee in addition to soda.

We stayed at POFQ where the one bus stop is right next to the lobby/food court. We found it very convenient to fill up the mugs before getting on the bus and then refill them when we came back to the resort. DH and I each got our own mug and we shared with our two young children.

Also, the slender version on the mug has a top that can be rotated to "close" or "open" the mug. We didn't received any complaints from WDW bus drivers when carrying these mugs on the busses even though signs indicated "No food or drink". We just took the mugs on in their "closed" position and our warm morning drinks were still comfortably warm when we reached the parks.

I plan on getting it but only because my boyfriend and I are morning coffee drinkers. While one of us is in the shower the other one can go down and get our coffee and then we can haveit before we head out for the day -- trust me even the happiest place on earth can get quite scary without our morning coffee (she says as she gulps down her first cup of the day!)

I bought 2 mugs for the 3 of us. I wanted hot tea in the morning. DH went without, and we shared... 2 mugs was plenty, and they are the smaller mugs. If you stay at Pop (I believe) they have the frozen drinks that are a great bargain!! We got our "money's" worth because we'd come back to the resort for an afternoon swim, and eat something, and fill up our mugs...

Now this time I'm bringing my old mugs because I dont have any plastic glasses, and I am going to put beer or wine in them when I drink at poolside!! IF I get any stares, I'll take off the lid so you can see no POR liquids will be in my "old' mug! :grouphug:

I'm buying 2 more (or more!) POR mugs too!!

I don't drink coffee so I have Diet Coke every morning. I would fill it twice before we hit the parks and again in the evening so it was a great deal for me. I'm the only one that got one because the kids drink water and my husband just had a coffee in the morning.

Mine are 16 oz. Just enough for a can of Diet Coke and a few ice cubes! We filled them up as we left the hotel each morning and rinsed them out in the bathroom at whatever park we were in for the day. They came in handy for dumping leftover pop in at the end of meals. They were especially handy at AK where they don't have any lids or straws for the drinks. My 2 DS still needed cups with lids on that trip and we gave them our cups for the day. We never felt like we were 'lugging' anything.

Am I the only one who looks at the mug itself as a souvenir and considers the free refills a bonus? I like to have souvenirs I can use and I don't think they're a bad price for something that we can use over and over.

I agree. I still have mugs from my 1999 and 1993 trips that we use all the time!

Nope! I drink my a.m. coffee every morning out of my mug. (and I do mean EVERY a.m. :rotfl: ). I like to have a little disney magic first thing in the day. They hold up really well, reminds me of our trip, and is a little reminder each day to my husband how much I want to go back!!!!

I use mine everyday also, as does my dd, 12. Carrying the mugs in the morning is one good argument for backpacks vs. fanny packs. I have used a fanny pack for the last 6 of my trips but I can't keep my mug with me. I love the idea of dumping left over soda from dinner into the mug!!! I'm using a backpack in Nov!!!

:drinking1 <---- Me drinking delicious Polynesian soft drinks out of my 1999 All Star Sports mug!
Just kidding.
