Sorry Another Early Entry Question!

But please note the times next week - monday & tuesday.

(I show) General Public opens at NINE AM. (Implying an EE opening of 8AM).

Not 7am.

Meaning we can/should get in line at 7:30ish....not 6:30ish. Which makes a big difference !!! :lmao: (at least for me :coffee: )

If anyone else can confirm the time for EE next week, please do so. I don't want to be an hour late....but I REALLY don't want to line up an hour & a half prior to EE opening. We'll be like the Griswolds at WallyWorld. :rotfl2:

hound :dance3:

That might be worth it for me to get there a few days early to see that!!! :rotfl2:

I also will be there next Monday & Tuesday (6/4 & 6/5) for EE.

We'll be there Monday, 6/4, for EE too.

In the past, we too have lined up about 35 minutes early.

Last October we were the first ones in line and were picked as the family to do the countdown to the gates opening. We were let in before everyone else. We did the countdown with the CM's, and then did our purposeful walk to Peter Pan.

My DD and I have been first on Peter Pan twice in our DL careers and second once.

It definitely pays to get there at least 30 min early to get near the front of the EE line!

Have a great time! We'll be the family dressed in matching red Mickey T-shirts! :cool1:

We did that once -- showed up an hour & a half prior to EE opening -- and we weren't alone! I'm not sure if it was because I read the time wrong off the web site, or if the schedule had changed within a week or two of our visit. I believe it was mid/early June last year and the opening times varied a bit from day to day, depending upon grad nights and other factors. The 1 1/2 hours actually past pretty quickly, and the 2 teenagers with me didn't complain too much; it was much preferable to being an hour late IMO. Check the website shortly before you leave if you can. Depending upon where you are staying, the hotel may have the latest schedule as well.

My DS and I have also been the first on Peter Pan a few times. Part of the trick is walking quickly. Often the CMs will scan the tickets for the first several guests in each line before they open the gates, so even if you are 1/2 dozen or more guests back in line, you will get into the park almost immediately.

We never got to the park before opening as somehow queuing up for 30 minutes just to avoid having to queue seemed a little self defeating.... Maybe its just me:hourglass We always aimed to arrive at the park at 8am non EE days and 7am EE days, you go almost straight in and we found no queues for the first hour anyway. We actually found queues formed earlier on the EE days. We prefered 8am non EE days as everything was open and running so it seemed to take longer for queues to start forming.

We'll be there Monday, 6/4, for EE too.

LOL I will look for you :) Im the shorty 5'0 with shoulder length redish brown curly hair probably wearing black capris and a bright colored top carrying a black mini backpack :thumbsup2

we walked purposefully to FL
Oooh, I like that phrase. ;) I think you got it from me, but I can't take credit for it. I read it on a WDW forum last year. And they probably got it from someone else LOL.

Yep....got it from the DLR planning expert. :cool1:

I used it, too. (you have to pronounce "purposefully" s.l.o.w.l.y....or you sound like you've had 4 glasses of wine). I told Ms. Hound we had to walk "purposefully" to PP & we DON'T have time to look at Micky Ears at those Main St. clothing vendors. :lmao:

Also, I told kiddo to walk "purposefully" down the street and avoid knocking down toddlers, characters & all those silly photo picture takers..... as we had accepted the quest to be one of the first on PP. ;)

We just got back last night & utilized EE on Monday & Tuesday (6/4 & 6/5). This was our experience:

On monday we got there at 7:35 & were 10-12th in our line. (There were about 5 lines). On Tuesday we got there at 7:50 & were probably 30th in line.....I turned around at 8am & there were another 30 or so families behind us.

Bottom Line - if you're gonna do the PP/Dumbo/Alice/Matterhorn quartet to start with (& I recommend you do so), be STANDING IN LINE 30-40 MINUTES PRIOR TO EE opening or you won't be able to do them quickly.

We rocked our EE rides on Monday. Completing in order - PP, DUMBO, ALICE, MATTERHORN, (toad was closed), PINOCCHIO, SNOW WHITE, BUZZ, (& GRABBED A SM FP AT 9AM SHARP...thus we successfully completed "HOUND'S EE GAUNTLET")

8 y/o Kiddo & I decided to do the following on Tuesday...(since we had "done" Alice, PP, Dumbo, SM on Monday & he didn't care to ride them again):

We got there at ten minutes prior to EE opening (NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU WANT TO RIDE PP, DUMBO, ALICE OR MATTERHORN!!...YOU MUST GET THERE 30 MIN + BEFORE OPENING if you are going to do "Hound's EE Gauntlet").

We walked to Buzz. Rode Buzz. Rode AstroBlaster. Rode Buzz twice more. walked to FL at 8:40 (Alice, PP & Dumbo were mobbed at this point), walked on the TeaCups, Pinocchio & Snow White. We then walked to Indy & grabbed a FP at 9am sharp. Walked on to Jungle ride at 9:01, then Pirates at 9:15 & HM at 9:29 & Winnie Pooh (which neither of us had ever rode) at 9:42. (then grabbed a Splash FP at 9:55)

Note: Every single ride this morning was a walk on. :woohoo: We avoided the mobbed rides (but picked up FPs).

hound :cool2:

Having a plan during EE (& picking up 3-4 FPs the first 2-3 hours at DL) takes so much pressure off the rest of the day....we were able to shop for pins, check out characters, poke around, see shows....just enjoy walking around DL as the park began to get crowded. No worries for us cause we had ridden 8-10 rides & had 4 -5 FP's in our pocket for later. :thumbsup2

Hound, you are one my true disciples. You have the concept down. Hit the rides early during EE or on a non-EE day, get those FPs and then put the breaks on. For me it is a stress reducer to have my foot on the accelerator for those first 2 hours because I know the rest of the day is setup for success and a more relaxed pace and shorter lines. :thumbsup2

HydroGuy, can you plan my trip!!!! Sounds like you have it all dialed in on what to do when... lol
