Sorry another cheerleading question

My DD had her first competition this weekend. SHe is in the tiny division so she got a medal anyway. But here is my question should the host school be able to compete? The host school won their division and I didn't think it was right.

Otherwise they could only hold competitions at nuetral places and that would be $$$$

This is how it is at many competitions that I have been involved with. The host team was always allowed to compete as long as the judges were brought in from outside. I was often contacted to be a judge for local competitions where I didn't have a stake in it. Just because the team hosted the event doesn't mean that there is bias on the part of the judges. If you have any issue with who the judges were or how they judge, you should be able to make a complaint or question the credentials of the judges.

My dd's are fortunate enough that most of their competitions host teams do not compete. And in our upcoming competition we will only be doing an exhibition.

I was just asking because the second place team had it and the crowd knew it too. While walking out to the car 2 girls off the host squad that won said that the other squad should have won. So i was just seeing if it is common for the host squad to compete too. I remember when my sister's school hosted they performed but did not compete.

My dd has been involved in cheerleading for 7 years. Her squads have never competed at their own competition or any other competition hosted by a squad in the boro. (we have school, recreation, and all star organizations) They always just exhibition but are still judged. We always get independent judges also. Nasi
