Sorcerer Pass

My pass expires today, I will be renewing it when I'm back down there in about 2-3 weeks. I'll ask about their policy for family members while at the window and report back.

Hit up three different ticketing cast members while was down there (I was flipping an old pass into a renewal which had me go to three people, well four if you count the person training the trainee). All confirmed that family members of Active DVC AP holders, living at the same address as the DVC member are eligible for new annual passes at the DVC rate at this time.

My getting an AP for my daughter wasn't luck, it was just a matter of stepping up to a cast member who understood the DVC side of the passes.

Just letting y'all know. If you are DVC, have an active AP and need the spouse or kids to have one there should be no issue. If you hit up someone who doesn't know and tells you "No", politely thank them and just move on. There are hundreds of ticketing cast members, some just don't know all the rules yet as Disney seems to change them daily. No need to make their day miserable. They're all very nice.

The only thing I didn't like about the experience was the new DVC cards are digital and the cast member had to take my phone. He then proceeded to flip through my phone to my wallet and pictures even though I pulled up the card from the site. Trainee.

But if you have to go to multiple CMs to get them to sell you one and you can’t get them with MS over the phone, then I don’t think we can say it’s the policy can we?

Way to many owners have been denied with multiple attempts..a friend just had the opposite experience of you..she went to 6 different places on different days and no one would sell a new AP, even though others had them.

She was told the only exception being made is for child in a family who have just turned 3.

Don't know what to tell you there.

I did not have to go to multiple cast members to get the answer they gave. Over the years there have been many things ticketing agent could do in person that they could not do over the phone. I was there in person, polite and always take the person's answer without pushing. That might have something to do with it. I happened to be at these cast member's windows while they worked on another issue the system had created with it's various software upgrades. My question was posed at the end of them attempting to work on my issue:

" I'm a DVC owner and have an active annual pass. Would it be possible for my son/daughter who lives with me to upgrade their park hopper pass to a DVC AP?"

Just reporting what I was told.

I did not have to go to multiple CMs to get the answer. I happened to be at these cast member's windows and they all confirmed the same.

I'm not sure why you're fighting me so hard on this. Just reporting what I was told

And I was simply doing the same thing…

Sharing that around the same time you were told one thing, my friend was denied multiple times. And she did mention she had heard some were being allowed for family..I actually suggested she try that line.

Her family members had them but hers was never renewed and she missed the window in the fall. One time she asked to speak to two different managers and was still told they don’t have the ability to sell new unless it’s the child. And, she is the DVC owner

Again, just reporting what she was told and to show that Disney is nothing but inconsistent.

I go next month I’ll see if they let me buy in for DH. I hope I get one of the CMs like you did, and not my friend!
