I purchased a Sorcerer pass for myself prior to our current trip. In the app, my pass is listed as a "Disney Vacation Club Member Disney Sorcerer Pass."

Last night at HS, I upgraded my 9 year old son's park ticket to a Sorcerer pass. I showed my DVC designation while doing so. I just checked the app and his is listed as a "FL Resident Disney Sorcerer Pass." Note - we live in CA, definitely not FL residents!

Do you know if this will cause any issues at renewal time?

It shouldn't. Technically, the Sorcerer actually is a Florida-resident AP. Certain DVC members are eligible to purchase it (even those outside of Florida) as a DVC perk. Perhaps your son's designation is because he's not the owner - or perhaps someone just identified the pass differently for him. But if you own the APs, you shouldn't have any issues using them or renewing them.

Might be a good idea to contact member services, just to avoid any possible confusion. Not sure if they still make you check in with member services when you activate the Florida resident pass. I always tried to avoid doing that a MK since it always seems so busy there in the morning. We've recently been buying the Florida resident tickets instead of the pass, this year I think we will do the pass again.

They might hit a snag when you renew since they'll presumably have to convert it from FL resident to DVC, but I wouldn't expect any issues on your end. Just a back-end issue that member services or ticketing will have to resolve.
