I don't know what are the laws in the US or Florida, but I'm pretty certain here purchasing an AP certificate equates to a contract between you and Disney.Surely there are other people like me, that have Thanksgiving Week booked with an unactivated gold pass, expecting to activate it when they arrive that will be completely blindsided when their park dates just disappear, as they don't follow boards and vlogs. Remember, we are but a small percentage of Disney guests. How will Disney handle them when they show up in Florida, and their reservations just disappear when they activate their pass? I think they will be dealing with several dozen to several hundred people like that.
Like you, many have purchased the pass and according to its terms and conditions booked transportation, hotels, days off work and so on. The idea that Disney could simply say "ok those certificates now have different blackout days" is bonkers. I am convinced Disney must honour that contract.
On renewal it's another story, obviously, at that point you'll have a choice of which pass to buy or not buy at all.
