Sorcerer AP blackout dates vs. DVC seasons

Surely there are other people like me, that have Thanksgiving Week booked with an unactivated gold pass, expecting to activate it when they arrive that will be completely blindsided when their park dates just disappear, as they don't follow boards and vlogs. Remember, we are but a small percentage of Disney guests. How will Disney handle them when they show up in Florida, and their reservations just disappear when they activate their pass? I think they will be dealing with several dozen to several hundred people like that.
I don't know what are the laws in the US or Florida, but I'm pretty certain here purchasing an AP certificate equates to a contract between you and Disney.
Like you, many have purchased the pass and according to its terms and conditions booked transportation, hotels, days off work and so on. The idea that Disney could simply say "ok those certificates now have different blackout days" is bonkers. I am convinced Disney must honour that contract.
On renewal it's another story, obviously, at that point you'll have a choice of which pass to buy or not buy at all.

Blockout dates are modified yearly, so Disneys traditional stance would be to upgrade you to the equivalent level at no cost or let you put the $ towards something else.

Except in this case, the blockout dates for 2021 changed AFTER the pass was purchased earlier this year, and people have made arrangements based upon those dates. They changed the dates for 2021, about 2 months prior to scheduled travel.. Based on blackout dates the Sorcerers pass is NOT the "equivalent" of the Gold Pass. And they really cant use the pandemic as an excuse. The parks are going to be open and operating, and people have park days reserved, hotel reservations and flights booked and paid for based on that Gold Pass. And to my knowledge, Disney has NOT contacted anyone directly with those reservations, indicating that their pass has to be activated on or before Tuesday to keep those reservation, and how in the heck would out-of-staters even get to Disney on such short notice to activate the pass by Tuesday?

I agree and it should not be changed for those who purchased the pass based on those dates, and had those dates booked prior the announcement last week.

As I mentioned earlier, people who have multiple renewal certificates cant expect the block out dates to be honored since those are done yearly. But, Tday week for 2021 should definitely be honored!

My hope is that they will end up having to do it because there will be too many angry people. The other option is that they could simply have people, like you, call, verify with you that the trip was booked and park reservations made prior to the announcement, and then change your certificate to the platinum (for no additional cost) so that you an use it during the block out dates.

Agreed, if purchased this year they should be honored. People who get them in advance know the risks.
