So.... we strolled on into PTC. It looked pretty empty, which is always a rarity! They took our ADR info and asked us to have a seat... BAD IDEA! As soon as we sat on the red, plastic couch, we both almost fell asleep.
Fortunately, our names were called quickly, and we were seated at a TV table... sweet!! Our mom's name was "Sue" and we immediately thought she was excellent. She tossed the basket of silverware and napkins on the table and told us to set it while she got our drinks.
Of course, we purposely did it incorrectly
She came back (without our drinks....) and scolded us for setting the table wrong. We are so sneaky! But she did give us a great "mom" lesson about setting the table. I'd like to share it with you:
fork has 4 letters
left has 4 letters... thus, fork on left
spoon and knife have 5 letters
right has 5 letters... thus, knife and spoon on right
utensils go in ABC order from left to right... thus, fork, knife, then spoon.
Cool, huh?
She took our orders after giving us our utensil lesson. I ordered my favorite.. pot roast. Matt got the fried chicken. She then left us with some homework assignments. Here they are, see how you do:
1. name 4 states with capitals named after Presidents
2. name 4 states with capitals that have 2 'u's in them
3. name 14 Disney animated features with one-word titles
So that kept us busy. We were happily chatting, for what seemed like a mere 10 minutes, when our food was suddenly here! We STILL didn't even have our drinks yet.. boo!! I can not eat without a drink!
Mom returned with a tray full of drinks
for the large party next to us.

She stopped by to ask how the food was and I said, "We're thirsty, Mom!" She had totally forgotten our drinks.
Now.. you would think she'd go get them, right? WRONG!! She proceeded to deliver the drinks to the large party next to us.. and then
TAKE THEIR ORDER!!!
There were 8 people who didn't speak English. It took FOR-EVER!! I was SO disappointed, too, because I really liked her.
She finally got our drinks after spending almost 10 minutes with the large party next to us. By then, my meal wasn't as fresh as it should've been. Still delicious, mind you.. but not as good as it could've been:
My pot roast
Matt's fried chicken
Mom apologized, but never offered to take the drinks off of our bill, or even throw us a free scoop of ice cream or somethin'. We even had our anniversary buttons on, for cryin' out loud.
But.. being the non-confrontational wimps that we are, we bit our tongues and bid a farewell to PTC. We did have a good time, and even remembered to keep our elbows off the table:
The evening is still young after dinner. We are
so ready to catch Illuminations. Stay tuned to see how we finished off our first evening together...
