I originally booked DxDP, thought it was good and economically friendly. Turns out i was going to be doing alot of OOP and most restaurants were 2 TS's. UGH i ponied up another $900 for 5 people to go to DxDDP only to find out that 3 restaurants i want to go to dont take DxDP i think Disney should make it one or the other either you participate in the DP or you Don't.

For instance Via Napoli takes all but the QS plan and the Deluxe why not the deluxe? Really?

Where did you see that Via Napoli doesn't accept DxDDP? I was always understood that restaurants which accept basic DDP always accept DxDDP as well.

ETA: I just checked the DxDDP brochure and Via Napoli IS accepting this plan. WDW dining plan brochures

Well on the 6 page print out it is listed, however, on the disney world website when i made the ressie the details screen has dashes as in not accepted for the DxDP. I will post it

Use the chart below to find the number of Table-Service Meals redeemed per person at this restaurant for each dining plan.

This is for Via Napoli

I ate lunch at Via Napoli on March 8th and used deluxe dining.

I had the provolone and salami appetizer, a personal pizza and an ice cream desert and it was one TS on deluxe.

The ony things it didn't cover were the artichokes I added to my pizza and a specialty beverage they make. I only had one of those and then switched to iced tea which was included.

Unfortunately that error has been on the online reservations page for quite a while. Use the pdfs that clanmcculloch linked for the accurate information on the dining plans.

You mentioned that a lot of the restaurants are 2 credits. For many people trying to have 3 TS meals every day is too much food and too much time in restaurants so the 2 TS restaurants/dinner shows are a good way to use the DxDDP. It still leaves you with one for breakfast or lunch and don't forget the 2 snack credits per day for each of you.

You said 2 other places you've chosen are not on the DxDDP. If you make reservations for TS for at least 2/3 of your credits this is the generally accepted breakeven point for getting the value of the DxDDP.

Via Napoli does take the deluxe. The website is wrong.

Restaurants that are not operated by Disney have the option of accepting or not accepting the dining plan (apparently unless they are located inside a Disney theme park - the only in-park restaurant that does not accept DDP is Bistro de Paris). So it is not Disney you have a beef with - it is the operators of those third party restaurants that have chosen not to participate in the Disney dining plan. Downtown Disney is pretty much entirely third party businesses and Disney probably doesn't want to exclude possible lessees who do not want to operate within the dining plan parameters.

As long as you are not within 3 days of your trip (2 days for DVC members) you can remove the dining plan from your reservation if you don't want it. If you're on a package reservation and within 45 days of the trip, you'll pay the $50 change fee to remove it as you will be decreasing your package price.

Im confused.. IF you use 2 TS a day for signature dining ( Narcossee, Cali Grill, Citrico, Jiko, Saana, Hoopde Doo, Lua) you should still have 1 for another meal plus your snacks which in many places can be a meal like (JUST) the ham and swiss croissant in France.

I would do mostly breakfast and dinner as 1TS each and then throw in a few signature (2TS) meals here and there, no need to signature constantly.

We ate at Via Napoli this past Sat. 3/26/11 and they took the Deluxe dining plan, just wanted to share that:thumbsup2

have eaten at Via Napoli 3 times in last 6 months on the deluxe plan...including Jan & Feb 2011.

As far as 2 TS restaurants & Deluxe...our experience has been 2 meals a day are plenty for us, especially with available snack credits. And even those end up being left over more often than not (after first day or so, we can barely eat two meals a day...either breakfast buffet & signature dinner early. Or late breakfast/early lunch at table service, then later signature dinner. And we rarely finish those meals, too.)
