SOOOO confused about dealpass HELP PLEASE

I used to belong to hotwire savings club last year and purchased the 20% off gift cards and want to do it again....i realize that now they are dealpass or passport to fun...... i want to get into the club for a monthly fee so i can pick up the gift cards again..... BUT in some web pages i am seeing only 10% off cards or i also found awebpage that for 199.00 yearly fee you can get the 20% off the gift cards..... what if you deside you want to cancel a few months down the road...what happens to your $199.00??? do they prorate it back to you?? I would be much more comfortable paying a monthly fee and feeling i could cancel when i no longer want the club..... does anyone know the real deal....when i called them on the phone, the lady said that there is a $9.95 plan with 20% off on cards but i would have to sign up online.... i only find that it says 10% off..... can anyone direct me to a webpage that offers what i want..... thanks....carol

Dealpass programs are now more difficult (and more expensive) to join for new members. I'm glad I kept 2 of my memberships! Check out this thread (really long) on FatWallet discussing it:

thanks... i ended up joining Everyday Privileges Gold , but they only gave me a temporary membership number and i wont get the new one for a couple of weeks.....i can order on the phone they said, but since i cannot get into the website to see all the stores offered, i wondered if anyone had a list of the gift card stores.......... also, are the gift cards they send out regular plastic gift cards? how about Amazon.com gift cards...how do they work....are they appropriate for giving the gift cards as gifts.....thanks...carol

I have Everyday Values Gold -- so I'm not sure if the stores are exactly the same as Everyday Privileges Gold but here's the EVG list. BTW with EVG/EPG, you can only get 4 gift cards per retailer per calendar month (online will allow you to order more, but then they cancel your order).

Most gift cards are the plastic gift cards in $25 increments. The Amazon gift certificates are paper, and they have the long code on them, mine came with Sept/Oct 2006 expirations when I ordered them a couple of months ago, so plenty of time to use them.

thanks so much..... i read somewhere that safeway gift cards can be used at other stores....is this true and which stores are they good at...??? i don't have any safeways by me... i am on long island, ny...

Carol, I am in the same boat you are. I have been going round and round with Passport to Fun for months and have finally given up. I too had Hotwire and was to be transferred to Passport to Fun. Well, in the process they cancelled my membership - it took an arm and a leg to get it reinstated. So, I get it reinstated and go a few weeks later to order some gift card and lo and behold I was cancelled again. I called and talked to numerous people including the supervisors and was told it was my Credit Card, which I knew it wasn't. I called my CC Company and they told me nothing had ever come through and they have not denied anything on my account. But, Dealpass won't do anything about it - they just play dumb and say I can't be reinstated. Then the guy tells me to visit Dealpass.com on a daily basis as the programs they offer change daily. Ok - I've been on there every day for over a month and it has not changed once. Only shows the program that gives 10% back like you were talking about. So, I e-mail them again and some yahoo comes back and gives me a list of sites that you can enroll through. I have been all over each of the sites and can find nothing. It is so frustrating as I really wanted to get a bunch of gift cards to save and use for Christmas Shopping. AAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
