Have to vent....tried to book The Tommorowland terrace Desert Party for our Anniversary for May 4th and for some reason the system went down halfway through..I checks my email and find out I have a reservation for the wrong date, Feb6th!! the same day I tried to book it online. I called reservations straight away, they said it was ok, the system went down and my credit card wasnt charged. They managed to get the right date for me.
Today I get my credit card bill in and find out I WAS charged two times!!! called reservations and they will not refund the original one as it is past the date!!! I explained that it was an error and I was told it didnt go through but they will not budge. Kept saying I should have called and cancelled...I kept saying I did and was told I wasnt charged!!! Spoke to 3 people in diff departments and they refuse to refund the original wrong date. !!!! Wayyyyy to ruin a 25th wedding celebration Disney!!!!! A word to the wise...NEVER book anything online!!!!!!!

I know that you are angry and understandably so. I would try to take a deep breath and calm down. Remember that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

Call again and speak to cast member about cancelling and getting a refund, always remaining calm and explaining your situation. If they won't help you, speak with their manager and don't get off of the phone until you do. Then if they won't, speak with their manager. You clearly have 2 reservations at the EXACT same place, just for different dates, this should not be a problem to get your refund, you just have to get the right higher up on the phone.

Good luck..and do your ABSOLUTE best to not be upset. :goodvibes

thank you for your kind reply's...I called back again and spoke to a supervisor who said I would have to put my complaint in writing like everyone else and they will look at it but cannot promise a refund. As far as they are aware I booked the original date and just didnt show up. I very nicely explained...no..I didnt show up as I was at home in Houston! All I can do is like they say...write to the complaints department and wait and see. Dosnt really help with my budget right now though. Im just thankfull it was only the desert party and it was only 60 bucks Ive lost...it could have beem much worse had it been a meal. After 2 cups of coffee and some chocolate I am more calmer about it...still a bit miffed though....hubby suggested we will just have to go in May and eat double the amount of cakes to make up for it..hehe

Call your credit card company and tell them what you are disputing and why. Tell them specifically what happended and be as specific as possible. At this point start documenting everything (people's names spoken to, copies of letters etc.). I would think that you have a good case. Good luck!

I would also call and speak to your credit card company. You can dispute it. This happened to us last year and we got our money back.

You should have 60 days after the charge was made to dispute via your credit card. We have had similar issues, although not with Disney, and our credit card company very easily helped us to remove the charge.

today you are the statue ;)

seriously though, I would just call the CC company and they will probably issue a credit adjustment within 24 hours. I wouldn't even bother dealing with Disney at this point.

I do wonder why the rep wouldn't cancel the reservation number in question while you were on the phone and send you a cancel notice via email :confused3

Dispute through your credit card cautiously... Most vendors don't take charge-backs kindly and it gives them a so-called negative red flag to their merchants. In some instances they can and will block you from using your credit card with them entirely.

And when you call back to Disney, let them know your next call will be to your credit card company to dispute the charges. I have found that at times that has changed the tune of a Disney manager on the phone. I had a similar problem when I tried to book a special even for my parents on their last trip to WDW- eventually got a credit that showed up a MONTH from Disney after the original charge...

I hope everything works out...
