As I am sitting here making my list on what to pack for next week. I wonder what does everyone else pack.

So spill it!

We pack you know the basic clothing, and extras for the just in case (weather, water, accidents..etc) our basic bathroom stuff, I usually buy new toothbrushes because I dont know what or who has been in the bathrooms where my toothbrush may fall on accident. my make up. First aid for the kiddo, with basic meds for her. Ear plugs, glow stick and neclace (she is autistic so dark rides and loudness aren't great) Movies for the ride down. Snacks.

what am I forgetting? Money, haha our tickets, books, my knitting stuff (after all its 8 hrs drive for us)

LOTS of clothes, we'll be gone a total of 8 days, 5 at Disney, so I have 10 outfits for each of us. Then the normal toiletries, medicines, band aides, two pairs of shoes for everyone, rain ponchos from our last visit (folded and all stored in a large ziploc bag so it takes up hardly any room) the kids stuffed animal, movies for the car, camera with extra memory card and battery, batery charger, phones (so we can find each in the park) and ipods loaded with Disney music. Then I'll have a large bag of stuff other than clothes just for my DD. She has cerebral palsy and needs many extra items.

I almost forgot I also have stuffed animals I picked up at the Character warehouse for the kids. I'll have them waiting in the car for them when we leave.

It's always best to pack extra clothes. When I went with my big family (I have no kids myself) the parents packed the kids outfits into ziplock bags. Shirt, pants, socks, underwear. Then all the kid had to do was open the suitcase and pull out a bag. No hmming and hawing over what to put on, wondering where all the socks went, etc. She also snuck extra into the pockets of the suitcase, just in case. It really made things go ALOT faster in the mornings.

We also brought a pack of cards, a couple of books, and small travel toys so that we would all have things to do in the hotel room. For the kids that were a bit older, their parents bought them little journals for them to write their trip memories in. It was a really great idea, because it kept them busy!

A male here.

Khaki Cargo shorts (or pants if it's colder) everyday. Period.

In them i can fit:

- sunglasses.
- sunscreen.
- camera.
- tickets/wallet/room key etc.
- a bottle of water.

No sense packing ANY other pants, because i won't wear them. (i usually bring one pair for every 2 days i'm there.)

(Also...assume your kid(s) will get a headache/fever/stomachache/ etc....so bring the stuff you need so your hubby doesn't have to search for a Walgreens at 11pm.)

Another good idea is to give your kids either little fanny packs, or there are even little wrist coin purse fanny pack things that you can put your information on in case they are seperated from you. Then a member of security can call your cell phone, etc.

That jogged my memory. (cargo pants also carry cell phones w/o discomfort)

(& don't forget the phone charger(s), to charge the phones in the evening)

I had always thought the cargo pants looked a little "too casual" for me. Then when I realized bulky things (like phones & cameras) don't "bulk" when they are resting down next to your knee.... I became a convert.

I'll only give up my cargo pants when it becomes socially acceptable to carry a man purse. :rotfl:

I won't do Disney without my backpack purse. It zips and holds everything...cell phone, camera, mini first aid kit, maps, small souvies, small snacks and of coarse...wallet w/ID, money, tickets. It stays close to my body and it fits in all of Disney's on ride holders.

Don't forget to make copies of your tickets and pack them in a seperate bag from the real ones just in case.

I agree with the extra clothes thing and be prepared for the full spectrum of weather. Warm, summer like and rainy and cold. You just never know.

Outside of the basics (clothing, bathroom stuff) my husband and I each carry a backpack. Between them both we carry into the park:
several gallon sized ziploc baggies empty
individual wet wipes
camera/batteries
2 DS lites
Pennies for smooshing
Trading pins
A stuffed animal
sunblock stick
rain ponchos
glow sticks
hand cleaner
spare tank top/shorts for my little girl
Water bottles
Snack baggie
pen/paper
Cell Phones
Id cards for my little girl
Tiny flash light
hoodies
Sunglasses

It seems like a lot but it's normally small stuff divided between two.

*editted to add* This trip we're packing a spare garbage bag in our luggage, in case it rains we have something to stash the then wet ponchos in with out getting everything else wet. And cheap knit stretch gloves.

oh yeah forgot the wipes!

I also have a neck travel pillow with matching travel blanket for Georgia for the ride down. the blanket will be packed in the back pack for in the park incase she gets cold, and needs to "hide" or relax to herself when she is having a moment.

Clothing in zip lock baggies is a great idea!! that would make for a super fast morning when everything is already planned out. I just might have to do that.

We've ben doing ziplocs for a few years. It is a a real time and space saver! What's funny is my mom uses the ziplocs for my Dad! He is colorblind and can't figure out clothes on his own.:rotfl2:
