Sony PS3..... NO PRESALES.....

at Gamestop, anyway. I was in there earlier today and was told that they will not be doing any presales, which I think is a REALLY BAD IDEA. You just know people are going to get in fights, get injured, and at the least, be VERY disappointed.

Gamestop is national, isn't it? I wonder if others will follow suit.

Sony really controls there Vendors and they are saying NO to the Presales because If and When they push the date back again everyones complaint is that they paid their money and they want it the day of the release.

They don't read or care about the disclosure that the date is not a hard date but a projected arrival date.I just think Sony is having trouble with it and at those prices it better be right.

Yeah, they now have ""extremely" limited presales according to an email they sent me today.

The ones by us were taking pre-orders as well, but DH called too late and they were all gone. I think they were only doing the 1st shipment though. This is the first console launch that he's been anxious to pre-order. Usually he's fine with waiting out the early supply kinks.

I'm not worried about it though since this wouldn't be a Christmas gift for anyone. Assassin's Creed will probably be the first game we'll get. As long as I have one by the time FFXIII comes out I'll be happy. Both of those come out in 2007. By that time, the supply issues should be sorted out.

In the meantime, our PS2 will be busy with FFXII, Xenosaga III, and Okami.

Only 400,000 units are being sent to the US for the release.

So that doesn't leave too many for each Walmart, EB, GameStop, Circuit City, Best Buy, Target and so on to get...

My fiance wanted me to go this morning to get a pre-order, I just didn't feel like getting up and showing up at the store with 30 people already in line. We'll get it when it is more available.

I showed up at 955am and doors openned at 10am I was the last of eight alotted for the store. I guess it is too late for westcoast to act upon it but maybe Hawaii might get the heads up.

Nov. 17th is the release date. But, if you didn't get in on a pre-order, you won't get one. I'm sure people will have them on E-Bay for exorbiant prices, but that's a waste of money IMO. In a few months you should be able to pick one up at the store.

Just talked to DH and he got his presale this morning!!! He went to a few Gamestops in NYC this morning and most had long lines. He found one that only had 2 people outside and he was #3!! By the time the store opened there was a line of about 40+ people. The manager came out, counted the first 12 people and told the rest to go home. DH was talking to the manager and was also told only 400,000 will be released in the US on Nov 16th. About half will go to the Gamestop stores which they already sold out the presales today. The other stores like Target, Walmart, etc.. will only get 4-5 units each. He also mentioned that the Circuit City stores will be geting more, about 12 units per store. Not sure how acurarte this info is but I thought I would pass it along! Looks like if you didn't get the presale, get to the stores super early on the 16th!! I could only imagine what these things will be selling for on Ebay!!LOL The next batch they say won't be released until March '07.

Yeehaw! Git er done! J/K if you camp out at target, Circuit city, Walmart, Toys R Us, Comp Usa, K-mart and Best Buy, you should get one on 17 nov. To my understanding there will not be a black thursday shipment unless stores hold back inventory. Next shipment after that is March 2007.

I over paid for my T.M.X elmo for my daughter on ebay and did not want that to happen again.

We got the email notice from Gamestop yesterday that they would have limited presales today. We are not getting one (DS is getting 360 or Wii), but I noticed the long lines at GS and EB this morning. I heard EB had 16.

The email also says that getting a presale does not guarantee receipt of the shipment on launch day.

Is that the one going for $600? I was just at EB an hour ago getting a gift and they were taking preorders. For $100 they put you down for one when they come in around Nov 17. They just started taking preorders today and already had 95 gone and another 5 left to preorder.

Yes, PS3 is $600 which seems like a lot but it has a Blu-Ray player. An XBox 360 with an HD-DVD add on is also going to be $600.

I plan to get a PS3 and a Wii within the next year, the 360 just doesnt interest me much
