Sony Cybershot W50

I'm thinking of getting the Sony Cybershot W50, but before I do, I'd like to see if anyone on this board has it and has any comments (good or bad) about it? I've read reviews for it on Steve's Digicam and CNET. I currently have a Canon Powershot A95, but was thinking of getting something smaller (the Sony weighs about 6 oz w/batteries, while the Canon is more like 8 oz w/o batteries). Thanks!

I purchased the W50 last summer and have been, overall, happy with it. For a point and shoot, I think it's pretty nice and takes some nice crisp shots. In low light however, it has trouble focusing and the ISO setting leaves more noise than I would like. It fits in a pocket and the On to shot taken time is really quick, as well as the shutter lag time. I have two 1GB Memory Stick Duo Pros and get 600+ photos between the two of them at 6MP resolution.

I am not familiar with the Sony, but do you think that the 2 oz. weight savings is going to really make a difference? I would look more at the dimensions than weight.

Yeah, I think your right about the weight, though the Canon is 8 oz without batteries and it takes 4 AA, so it feels pretty heavy in my purse.

The Sony is much smaller than the A95 in terms of sizing.

Choosing a new camera is so hard..fun, but hard.
