I've looked through the instruction book and the website and can't find the answer to this question...
I recently bought a Sony Cybershot 7.1 digital camera. I love it, works great...but I can't figure out how to delete all the pics on the camera at one time. I know how to delete each pic individually, but how do I delete all the pics off the memory card all at once after I have already downloaded them onto the computer? Does anyone have this camera and know how? Is it even possible? Thanks!!

I too have a fairly new sony camera and found it hard to delete all the images at once. What I do is go into the set up mode...look for format....then re-format the media. It clears all images on your media for you.

Hope that helps!

What model Sony???
It's a Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 7.1

That definately worked! Is that what they mean by "formatting" the memory stick? Why not just say "delete all pics"? I wish the manual explained things better, but I do love this camera! Thanks!

The other way I clear the memory card (older DSC model) is to delete all of the files in the Windows Explorer folder that I'm copying from to save the pictures to the computer. Windows should treat the camera just like a regular data area.

Try this:

Put it in review mode, where you can click through all your pix. Look for one of the buttons which will put it in thumbnail mode. On my Sony it's actually the "W" button to zoom out the lens. It should show a checkerboard icon. Then hit your delete button. It should bring up the option to delete a selected pic or "all in this folder."

Having said that I usually reformat the card in the camera, lol.
But it can be done!
