My 9 year old son doesn't want to see "Jungle Book 2" with me, and I'm wondering if he is outgrowing the Disney animation movies. Also, he's not that interested in Disney on Ice-Isn't 9 a little young to be moving beyond Disney? Isn't any age a little young-LOL!! Just wondering with boys if maybe Disney isn't a little more "girl" oriented.

My DS8 didn't want to see the IMAX Lion King. Said it would be "boring". He also no longer asks for the latest Disney movies/dvd that come out. Tells me they are for the little kids. I don't know if it's a boy thing or not but he has certainly lost interest in some areas.

If I asked him if he wanted to go to WDW, he'd give me a definate YES! :sunny:

Well . . . my sons are now 19 & 17. My husband and I still go to the movies for Disney films and sometimes the kids join us. The oldest one went with us to see Toy Story 2 a few years back (we went to a matinee and it was all little kids - go figure), and the youngest went to see Monsters Inc. with us. Of course, don't ever tell their friends that! LOL! :D

My 18 year old college freshman son loved Lilo and Stitch! His roommate bought it. My son is as "Disney obsessed" as I am. :D

It's sounds like your sons are being brought up right!!! I should try your methods-As much as I've tryed with my son, he does not seem to be as Disney brainwashed as I am!

If a trip to DL doesn't interest him, then I'd be worried.

With the Disney Ice thing, isn't it all about the Princesses? There's no way I would have gone either.

As far as Jungle Book 2, he may feel the same way about sequels as Walt did. I save you guys from a rant, but I'll just say that I refuse to watch them & they aren't Disney movies to me.

My son is Disney impaired :( It's genetic, I think, he got this malady from his father :(

Travis was about 8 when he didn't want to do Disney "stuff"

My 10 year old son is very excited about going to WDW but has no interest in seeing any of the sequels that Disney keeps releasing. I think that he agrees with you Jeff. ;)

Jeff- are you stealing my thoughts? ;) To say the least I agree!

Sorry your son isn't as into Disney as you want him to be, that shouldn't stop you from going to see the Disney movie if you really wanted to!

I think it's a situation where most Disney freaks hate them. I think you either have people that hate them or people that are just indifferent & then the occasional person that likes them.

We first noticed DS (15) wasn't enjoying his yearly Disney trips at about age 11. We were in denial, DH and I enjoy everything Disney! The last time he went he was 14, all he wanted to do was mini golf, Disney Quest and sit in the Resort and order room service. He doesn't plan on going back anytime soon:(
We really enjoyed those Disney family trips and we hope he comes to his senses one of these days. LOL

My son will be 13 in July, doesn't want to see any Disney movies with me. He also told me that I could take my nieces and nephes to WDW (one at a time) without him as long as he gets to go to San Antonio Sea World and Fiesta Texas. Maybe in a year or so he will want to go back to WDW.

I took my 14 year old niece Jan 1-5 and will take my almost 12 year old niece June 1-5. I asked him again if he minded and he said "No".

Where oh where did I go wrong? He should ALWAYS want to be at WDW.
