Me, too... why do these things keep popping up????

It's part of the new WORKING search. There is often a list of "Similar threads" at the bottom of some threads. It lists threads from all the way back to 2004 (at least!) So we get all these newbies who don't participate in current threads , but will open one of these old threads and post & bump them up.

The sad thing is, because of the Great Banning a couple years ago, many of the original posters from back then are no longer even here.

We should petition WMAlex to remove that "Similar threads" feature. Do we really want to be able to revisit old threads? We have enough problems with people not reading the list of current threads past the first couple pages and posting to them.
