Song Airline just moved my Nov. departure time from Boston-Orlando from 7:20 to 11:35. That means I should arrive in Orlando 4 hrs later than planned. No one notified us. Do I have any recource ?

Very upset

Yikes, sorry about that, but I do believe the airlines have the last say in fight times and equipment used.

They do still have time to notify you of the change, since the flight isn't until Nov.

When this happened to us with Delta Express a few years ago, we requested a refund and received it. We then booked another flight. We were originally flying out of Islip, LI. We switched to LaGuardia. They credited my AMEX for the flight cost. I don't know if another airline or airport is an option for you. It seems quite a few flights on Song have been changed.

You can probably get a refund or change to a different flight. You might consider the last flight the previous evening and stay at an airport hotel in Orlando.

We booked the 7:20 flight for December almost as soon as it was announced. Wouldnt you know it, a couple weeks later it was gone and we were on the later flight. At first I panicked and called just to get confirmed seats so we would all be together(flying with 2 young kids). So technically, we accepted the later flight. After calming down for a few days I thought a little straighter and we decided to leave a day earlier as to not cut our first day short. We called again and had no problem changing to a day earlier. They worked with us and there was no extra charge for the change even though the prices of the flights had gone way up by then.
I would say decide what your preference is then call and see what they can do for you. Hopefully you will be as lucky as us.

Also, we were origianlly booked on AA. They cancelled our flights, gave us new ones, now connecting, later times, and on tiny planes(which I refuse to fly). We were able to get a full refund there.

Yep, looks like Song is doing away with that 7:20 a.m. flight. We were booked on it for 8/16. They didn't tell us either. I saw it online. Being somewhat obsessive I check every day!!! Good thing. When I called they told me that they would have notified me, but it was over 3 1/2 months away yet. So, they had put me on the 11:35 flight also. I didn't want to get into Orlando that late either, so they booked me on a flight the night before. Now, I change my mind and ask them to rebook me on the 11:35 flight earlier that day! Which they did. It did cost me $76 to change the three seats but I get to WDW at 2:30 instead of 6 on an E-night!! I did find Song very easy to work with though. Hopefully they'll bring back the early flight out of Logan.

is delta doing away with delta express or is song a additional carrier that they are bringing on. personly I like delta express and prefer to fly them into hartford, and i see song will be flying their in sept.

Yes, Delta is doing away with Delta Express and Song is replacing it. Also a few weeks ago we had a thread going about them doing away with the 7:20 flight out of Logan and many of us emailed them about our disappointment And our disappointment over their very high fares compared to what Delta Express had offered in the past. None of the replies were very encouraging about either the fares or reinstating the 7:20 flight. Our trip is the last week of April and the roundtrip fare is $380 on Song. We have never paid more than $240 for roundtrip direct flights on Delta Express. This trip is past peak Easter/Springbreak time and unless that fare drops (of course I check it every day!!) we are looking at Southwest. We live on the Cape so although Providence is not bad, Logan is actually quicker for us especially with the Ted Wiliams tunnel. I am hoping that once Song is fully operational out of the Northeast they can get those fares down where they should be to compete with Jet Blue and SW, and have an early flight to MCO for all of us Disney nuts!!!

I want to thank everyone for the feedback and direction. I knew I came to the right place for help. I called Song and they have indeed discontinued the 7:20 flight. In addition the e-mail response was "The decision to withdraw early morning service from Boston to Orlando was made reluctantly and only after we determined there was no alternative". I flew out of Boston on Song a couple of weeks ago and the flight was full. As suggested here I moved our flight to the day before, 3:10 departure, with no charges for flight change. There were no problems doing this.

This does not appear to be the appropriate strategy for competing with Southwest and Jet Blue. Neither of these airlines however fly out of Boston but I understand that Jet Blue is looking at Logan gate openings.

Again thankyou

I was also on that 7:20 flight. I guess I don't care since we can't check in until 3pm anyway and we're getting there at 2:45.

My rate was really good - $210.00.

I agree about the late flights though. It stinks to get there later, but, for me, it doesn't matter. I don't do much the first day anyway.

I would check on that high rate though. I only paid $210.00 and that was with all of the taxes.
