I have tried to do a lyrics search to find the title of a song I heard this morning but no luck so decided to try here. It's an oldie and I have no clue who sings it.

I think it goes something like this

I've done everything I can to try and make you mine, and I think I'm going to love you for a long long time.

Can anyone help?

Yes I think it's from the 70's, I tried both of them and it's not a song that comes up under either of them.

i knew that i had heard that song before!!!! mindy mccready, a country singer, has this on one of her CD's...i would listen to it and be amazed that i knew the words to it, but could never place it! my dad was a HUGE linda ronstadt fan and used to play her records over and over and over when i was growing up!
