Hey any advice would be great. I am flying from California (LAX) and am looking for airfare for July 2006. On Song/Delta I have found $257.11 (non-stop) per person. It sounds good to me but am unsure if I should wait!? Also I haven't flown on Song before. How are they and by July will they be just Delta? Any help would be great. Thanks. :earsboy:

last month they were offering 200 dollars round trip for Jan , LAX-MCO. $259 seems to be the regular discount.I would say wait and see.

I love flying Song. I would compare them to Jet Blue. They had the TV's behind the seats. You could watch or play a trivia game versing other passengers. Really made the time fly by. They handed out menu's and if you wanted to order food, you could. Stayed on schedule. A real pleasure. It was nice to be able to check between Song and Jet Blue for the best schedules and fares.
Not sure what may happen with all that is going on with Delta but I am hoping that the level and type of service I experienced with Song does not change.

Song has been one of my favorite airlines to fly with. I fly out of Boston. But with the merging back into Delta this spring, who knows how it will impact Song. Some things will change, others will not. My only problem with Delta/Song is that if you book early, you have to constantly watch to see how your flights get changed. You wil notice I say 'how' not 'if'. I have yet to fly Delta/Song and have no changes whatsoever. Sometimes they are miniscule, but still require a call to their CS line. Other changes can be big....taking a 2:15 flight, and canceling it, and putting those people on a plane at 6 or so. Yes, I understand they are supposed to work with you in that event, and they have been pretty good about it when it has happened to me. But, I am flying in Oct and have still not booked my flight. I'm waiting to see what other choices I have...JetBlue and SW.
So...if you can get a decent fare with Delta/Song...go for it. Just be sure to keep an eye on your reservations. Other than that 'little' issue, I have loved flying Song.

From what I have read Delta will continue to use 757 from Song along with other 757 for Coast to Coast flights. I am sure as posted that flight times will change and that you may not have an aircraft with TV's. If TV is a big thing I would book Jetblue of wait till they merge together in May and see what happens.

Yes, the Song planes with the seatback entertainment will be reassigned to Delta flights of 1,750 miles or more.

And that's the problem I have. Yes, I did hear that they were going to retrofit all the planes with the seatback tv's. But, in the meantime....it was so nice flying to MCO on Song. All those kids were actually mostly quiet, since they had the entertainment. Now, I thought it was just my imagination, until I flew SW in August. Huge noise difference.
I can't wait for all the planes to have the tv's.

Um, you do know it's only about 1,300 miles from Massachusetts to Orlando, right? Chances are they're going to take away 'our' seatback entertainment :(

Yep, and that's my 'problem'!! I want my TV!!!! Gotta track my flight, gotta watch Animal Planet!!! But I do seem to remember Delta saying that at some point, down the road, all their planes would have the TVs, just like Song has now. Should I believe them?? Don't know....just hoping!!!

I love the TVs on Song, as well as the "buy what you like" meals. Very nice, friendly attendants as well.
I did have a little issue with the plane on my return to BOS from MCO on NYE, though. Seems the electrical system on the plane was acting up, and one side of the plane had absolutely no TV! What a disappointment for those people! However, it seems that they had quite a few no-shows on the flight, and invited anyone who was on the right side of the plane to move to any empty seat on the left.

So, I guess until they have all the Delta flights retrofitted w/ TVs, I'll fly JetBlue...what a pleasant way to fly!

That's funny - I had a similar problem flying between Boston and Los Angeles. On the outbound flight, the crew tried resetting the system about a half dozen times with no success. All that was available (although to all seats) were trivia, music and the things you pay for - games and movies. On the way back, it was hit or miss until about 4 AM. When there was tv reception, it was horrible.
It only dawned on me later - this was the same plane! :)
