Song / Delta "Merger" Plane Question

The 737-800 seats 2-2 in first, 3-3 in coach. These are fairly new planes (the -800's), and 737's are very common aircraft. I've flown on many of them over the years. The MD-88's seat 2-2 in first, 3-2 in coach. They are a little older, and the engines are on the back of the plane. They are very comfortable airplanes, and usually very quiet (unless you are in the very back). I've also flown many of them.

The Embraer 170, seats 70 people in a 2-2 layout. Although I've never been on one, I hear they are very comfortable! They are also very new (just joined Delta Connection within the past few months).

Not really anything to worry about! ;)

Thanks for the great info, everyone.

Now...to decide what to do!

I just did a fare search and I see that I can get 4 non-stop, roundtrip tickets (same days, times very close together) on American Airlines and on "Song", but AA's price is $40 less. ($707 VS $747, for the 4 of us).

What's up with AA? Any chance of them changing their planes? Do they use nice planes? Any in-flight entertainment??

Boy, we're going to miss the entertainment we had on Song for the last few years :(

What would you all do? Maybe wait a while to see what's what, or book something now in case the changes bring about big price increases....?? :confused3

P.S. What's an "M80"?? Sounds like an explosive. lol "M80" is the type of plane for that flight, according to the AA website.
