Hi all! I just booked a cruise for next spring and my son will be turning 3 the day after we leave Port Caneveral. I have a few questions for any of you who have taken a child this age on a Disney cruise:
1) any recommendations on special things we can do to celebrate his actual birthday during a day at sea?
2) any recommendations on port activities in Tortola or St Thomas that would be age appropriate for him (and our daughter who will be 5)?
3) I'm interested to hear about recent kids club experiences for kids this age. Obviously I don't have a crystal ball so I have no idea if he will be "fully" potty trained by then. And if he isn't we just will not take him. But I've read drastically different reports on how Disney handles a young 3yo whose parents put pull ups on him to prevent an accident. If he is potty trained & we don't leave him for over an hour at a time & put a pull up on him "just in case" & return hourly to make sure he goes to the bathroom, is that acceptable? The reports are all over the place on this. In the end I seriously doubt we would let him stay in there for hours on end and certainly not without checking in frequently, but if his sister is in there having fun I'd like him to have the opportunity to join in if he really wants to. I'm not so worried about my wife & me getting adult time-we had plenty of adult time before the kids came along! But I want to give my kids the best experience possible!
Any input on any of the above is sincerely appreciated! I'm learning tons from the fine folks on this forum!
