Our oldest son is turning 18 the middle of May and his choice for what to do for his birthday is to go to Disneyland (as if we haven't been many many times). Any ideas on how to make this a special birthday in the parks for him? He is a GREAT kid and a huge Disney fan (I have trained him right!). Thanks in advance for ideas to make this a special day.

Get him a bday button in the parks and maybe a bday hat or ears, get him a bday treasure chest at one of his meals. :)

Thanks for the posts but he would not wear the ears (I fight to get him to wear the button when we have done birthdays there before) and he is not into the Princesses......
Hopefully I will find something that will make his day extra special...... Thanks again!

Okay, my thought about the princesses was "cute young ladies, 18 year old." However, if that side of it would be missed on him.... yeah, skip it.

Does he like comedy? The Laughing Stock at the Golden Horseshoe is a fun comedy show that an 18 year old guy might enjoy. Same is true with Biilly Hill and the Hill Billies.

Is he someone who likes to know thhe behind the scenes of stuff? Maybe a "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour or "Discover the Magic" tour?

What is it about Disneyland that he enjoys so much? If it's what he picked for his birthday, there must be parts of visiting DL that are dear to him. Make those moments / experiences the center of the day

I would get him his own Disney Gift Card. That way he still gets a gift but its money he can spend anyway he wants at Disneyland. He will be an adult after all! :goodvibes

go to pat E cake in the plaza inn sure it is geared for smaller kids but I liked it and I was 35.

Thanks! I had not thought about the Walk in Walt's Footsteps or the Dicover The Magic tours...... I think one of these will be perfect. He is really into the animation aspect and says that one day he will work for Disney. We have had the pleasure of visiting the Disney Studios two times and he loved it. Thanks Again!!! By the way.... he is getting his pass renewed for his birthday.... wonder how many more trips he will want to tag along with Mom, Dad and brother?

Oh! Oh! In that case... spend however long he wants over at the Animation Building at DCA. Go to the Animation Academy where he (and all of you) will get to draw a Disney character in a class with the guide of an a Cast Member.

Spend time with the zeotrope.

Play with all the other cool exhibits and things in there. And if you time it right, see 2 animation shows. Different character. :)

You should have a shirt made that says "Prince Charming" On the front. Or like other said... Birthday buttons, Disney Dollars or Gift Cards for the Resort are great. Or you can get him dinner reservations at his favorite restaurant at the DLR.
