Our 10 year old son is going into hospital on Monday, to have 7 teeth out!!! They are enamel-less and crumbling away. This is not because he hasn't brushed them or anything, but probably due to too many antibiotics as a small child. He will have to have a GA, and we are all a little worried about it. He will only be in for the morning, but none the less a little terrifying.

Good Luck Jack

Don't worry - I know it sounds awful, but you'll be suprised how quickly your son will get over it.

When my DS was younger he had to have 6 perfectly healthy second teeth removed due to overcrowding in his mouth. He had his teeth removed under GA at our local dental clinic. I went in with him and they gave him the anasthetic (sp) in his hand which put him to sleep immediately. It took less than 1 hour from him 'going under' to them sending us on our way - DS being still a bit woozy.

As soon as we got home he wanted food!!!! Toast at that - which he managed to eat with no problem. Aside from being a bit sleepy that day, he was back to normal the next day.

Good Luck Jack
