We do not fly out until 5:45pm and am thinking that it might be best to go to Disney Market Place after debarking, but we have DCL transfers. Do we have to go to the airport, or can we take the bus to Disney and than take a cab back to the airport? And if we need to take a cab to/from Disney what would it cost? I know it is only about 15 minutes. Thanks! :Pinkbounc

I'd drop the DCL transfers for your return and get a rental car. We got a mid-sized Avis car on the last day. We checked our luggage and got boarding passes right at the port, so we did not have to worry about trunk space or theft. We drove to Downtown Disney and spent the day. We had planned to see a movie but instead just walked around and shopped until about 3. It was a lovely warm day and we were headed back to the tundra so we wanted to get as much outdoor time as possible! We then went to the airport, breezed thru security, and sat in the US Airways club for the remaining hour before our flight. Total expenditure for transportation was about $40 inc. gas. The transfers would have been something like $75 and then the cab another $50 r/t. I loved doing it this way - especially having the freedom to go anyplace we wanted - and would do it again in a heartbeat. JMHO.

We used to do transfers thinking they were so much easier but the rental is a breeze. We are actually looking to book a late flight to spend more time in Florida on our way home. Last time we did downtown disney but this time DS really wants to see the gatorland (oh my what fun:eek: ) and then we may stroll over to wonderworks... but the disney bus really does limit you and cost a great deal more!
