Sometimes the Best Plan is to Forget the Plan!!

So I am OFFICIALLY taking a birthday cruise with my best friend, Laura.

At first, I was really set on taking Landon and we were all going to go on a Disney cruise. But right now, Landon is too young for the real kid's clubs and I just don't want to deal with booking stuff and paying for the younger kid's thing they have. It really just sounds like a pain to me and I'd feel so much less flexible and it'd just be stressful, which is like anti-cruise. A cruise is about relaxing!! Not to mention, we want to do a bunch of excursions and stuff and Landon would just make that difficult. So I've talked with my mom and she said she would watch Landon so I could go on my birthday cruise. (She had actually already previously agreed to watch him while I went down to Grand Junction for a long weekend in the summer but I cancelled that in favor of this! And I'll be paying her and then giving her a vacation from babysitting when I get back!) (I also hope you guys don't think I'm a bad mommy!)

So after it was decided that Landon wasn't going, I was still pretty set on my Disney cruise. But then I looked around and realized that a short Disney cruise with an inside stateroom is more expensive than longer cruises on other lines in rooms with balconies. I'd rather have a longer cruise with a view personally. (I feel like this post is going to make everyone hate me--No Landon and now no Disney!)

Right now, I've mostly been researching some of the main cruise lines (Princess, Royal Caribbean and Carnival) and am not sure where we will be going yet. There are just so many options. Nothing is set in stone quite yet but I think right now, the ones at the forefront are a Western Carnival cruise leaving from Miami stopping in Grand Caymen, Isla Roatan (Honduras), Belize and Cozumel with 2 days at sea. Or a Mexican Riveria (not sure which line) that stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. (If you want to help me reseach, Jenny, go for it! I can give you my personal email! We're just looking for April 2010!)

Also...in case you guys need another reason to hate me laughing: I know you guys don't...at least I hope! ) I forgot to upload pictures again. Bad Kimmy!

Awesome Kimmy!!! I've never sailed with Princess but I have with RCCL and they are AMAZING. The ships are huge and beautiful and there is just so much to do onboard. I've never sailed with Carnival but I've heard that if you've cruised before, you'll be disappointed. Since I've sailed with DCL, RCCL, and NCL, I haven't been in a big rush to try them out! I'm excited for you!

And of course we don't think you're a bad mommy!!! That's nonsense!!

YAY!!! That is so, so exciting about the cruise! I think it'll be so great to go on a cruise just you and your best friend--and No, you're not a bad Mommy! Michael and I are already planning on leaving our kids (even though we don't have any yet!) with the grandparents every once in a while for a "just us" trip. And I'm totally with you in not sailing with DCL right now. We're waiting for kids for that too. It'll be more fun when Landon can enjoy it with you. I can't wait to hear what you decide! A birthday cruise! How exciting....I don't think you are a bad Momma, either. I've been to WDW without the kids & we take a trip once a year without them. You'll have a blast on the cruise and will get some relaxation, which will recharge your Momma batteries. Plus, Landon will have fun with his Grandparents! They'll love the time with him, too... And I have looked and Disney Cruises are expensive. I want to go on a cruise someday, so you'll have to tell us all about it! Hope you guys had a good Christmas!

Thanks. I am dying to go to the same ports you did...your pics are SO beautiful!! The Mexician Rivieria is cheaper for longer cruises and airline prices are better too. I am about to go catch up on your tr though and I am sure I will cry at the beautiful pics I won't be seeing in person. Not this time anyway.

Thanks!! I'm glad you see eye to eye with me on things. It will be a nice break. I'm already planning on taking a few extra days off when I get back so I can have more Landon time since I know I will miss him so much!! I haven't heard of vacationstogo, but I'm going to go look now!!

I love my phone too...it already broke though!! Right now, it will turn off unless it is plugged in. It won't charge at all!! The battery symbol is just black with a question mark. I think its just a fluke somehow and not common. They are already sending a free replacement on its way though!!

Okay, so this was earlier in December and I never put pics up for you guys and I need to since this is the Dis!!

They had princess dresses on display for the "preshow".

And they had princesses come out and just wave. When we were there it was Tiana!!

Whose seen that movie so far? I just saw it and I really liked it!

We were like 2 rows back from the ice!! It was awesome!!

Mickey and Minnie had some car trouble!

Up next, we went to the African savannah for some fun with Simba and Nala!!

The whole scene with the antelope was pretty cool. I couldn't get a good picture, but it looked like a really big herd stampede!! Each single skater had 3 antelope on them...on their head and each arm. It looked awesome.

Then Nala came and encouraged Simba to take his rightful place as King of Pride Rock! And they all lived happily ever after!

And this was Landon, the WHOLE time!!

They spent the whole second half doing the Tinkerbell story (the same as the movie). I couldn't get any pictures, they were too fast. It was very, very chaotic with things falling over as the sprinting thistles messed everything up. It was pretty cool though.

Okay, Christmas pictures are supposed to be up next but I can't find them!! I uploaded them to my photobucket the same time as the DOI pics so I don't know where they are! I will keep looking though!!

I see advertisements for DOI all the time. There's 3 arenas within a 60 mile radius of here lol so I don't think I'd have a problem getting to one of them!

I'll have to check out that seller on ebay when I get home. They block ebay here. But not amazon. I don't get it.

Once we went to Disney World without the kids. But it's usually just a weekend trip somewhere low key.
