Sometimes it's the little things...what do you miss?

I miss the old POC

And although I desperately love Pooh...Sorry Pooh, I miss Mr. Toad more! Mr. Toad and Snow White are my two most vivid memories as a child when I first visited WDW.

I really hoped to show my DH on my first trip as an "Adult". Several people must have thought we were very strange as I wandered around Fantasyland "looking" in every nook and cranny for where they hid Mr. Toad! LOL

"I swear it was RIGHT here!"

Also miss the old Tiki room. My parents first trip back since the '70's (they had been to DL many times since then also) and they were SO looking forward to it!

There should have been a ride snapshot to capture all of our faces when Zazu came out! LOL!!!!!:hyper: HILARIOUS!!!

Ps. Think DD is still bitter!! LOL

Forgive me, but what is POC?
I miss Delta Dream Flight too! I miss being 13 and going to Disney for the first time and what an amazing experience it was, how much in awe I was.
Thanks for starting this thread, you all have brought back some wonderful memories...

I really miss the TIKI room -

when I was little I thought it was sooooooooo lame but my mom LOVED it and she made us sing that song all the time...

in the tiki tiki tiki tiki room....

I was very sad that my kids will never get to watch it with her - they love watching the new one together but I always hear my mom singing the whole song to my DD when we are leaving!!

I really miss the Clyde and Claude banter at the beginning of the Tiki room - my dad used to love it so and whenever we went into the MK he would say "Where are Clyde and Claude birdbrain? We have to find them!" When replaced that with Zazu it was like another piece of him was gone:(

The loss of Mr. Toad was hideous! I like Pooh a lot but he had more than his fair share of exposure. I always thought that maybe the Toad ride helped introduce The Wind in the Willows to kids. It is such a great story. Couldn't they have found another place for my stout, fuzzy friend?

I really miss the Land song and Kitchen Cabaret. I just loved the crooning milk carton and the vegetables with maracas singing, "Veggie fruit fruit, veggie veggie fruit fruit!" My sister and I used to sing that to each other at mealtimes:teeth:

This is a great thread. Disney is all about the trips down memory lane. Please keep posting, y'all!

I miss a lot of the things that you all mentioned...especially all the moldy oldy music...the ones you find yourself singing 15 years after you first used it...Listen to the Land that we all love, natures plan with shine above, Listen to the land, listen to the land...but the #1 thing that I miss above all others

The Main Street Electrical Parade!

also, since I am 26 now instead of 6...I miss being carried out of the park after a very full day at midnight...it always seemed to sad to have to leave the MK when there was so much to see or do...

I miss JII & the Playground, Tapestry of Nations, The Original Tiki Room, Kitchen Kaberet & now Food Rocks (I liked them both) I will also miss Alien Encounter - my son loved that attraction....
I miss the music, too - you can here alot of it on Live365's Radio Buena Vista.

Danny - I'm curious why you say the AE is an attraction Walt would have never built? He built some scary rides, loved technology & story-telling - seems to me, AE had those elements. I liked having a "teen" attraction, where there are so many geared to the littler ones. They don't stay little forever & the older kid attractions are so few & far between.

Oh, drat - You know what else I miss??? Cranium Command! That show was so funny. I wish they would have left the WOL pavillion open until they were ready to upgrade it. I hope when they do, they leave CC.....

I just hope they never give up on COP. It's hokey, but it's Walt's and should alway be a part of WDW!

Susan---I too hope never to see them give up on COP. I ride it every trip in loving memory of my father. He adored the ride. It's so funny because my DS10, DS7 and DD5 all love it too. Having never met their grandfather, it's a sweet memory that will live on, as long as CP does!!

I really miss Horizons too it was my favorite ride in Future World. I wish they could have updated it.

I loved Dream Flight...but I love Buzz more LOL.

Mostly I wish you could get a CD with the old ride music; the Dream Flight song, and If You Had Wings, and also Tomorrow's Child from SSE. It would be great too if they sold a cd of the music they used to play at the entrance to Epcot, it was so futuristic and "trekkie" :)

Have you been to www.live365.com? They have several Disney stations that play old music. Try Sorcerer Radio, Park Hopper Radio or Mouse House Radio. Just about everyday I'll hear old music...like from Wedway People Mover!

I miss Tapestry of Nations the most!! It was my favorite thing in WDW! Also, The steel drum music in Adventureland. To this day whenever I hear steel drums it reminds me of WDW.

I miss the scavenger hunt they used to do in Adventureland. If you participated you got one Front of the Line pass, and if you won you got several of them. It was a fun family thing. And in the days before fastpass a wonderful way to get on SplMn

Thanks for the website vettechick! Looooove it!!!
