Sometimes it's hard to know what helps and what doesn't...

I feel bad about something that happened today with Titus. We were talking via IM for the first time in a couple weeks. I had taken a really great pic of Ashli last saturday trying to catch a snowflake on her tongue and without asking first I just sent it through. Titus had a big reaction to the pic but he also mentioned that he's more homesick than ever after looking at pics of Ashli. I know he's had a very difficult time keeping his spirits up in the last month or so and I feel like when he got off the net he was a little down. Ugghh, I should never have sent that pic through like that without any warning. And now I feel bad. But I really did only have the best of intentions. I'm going to tone it down with the pics from now on though. I love pics and I didn't realize that they can make things harder for Titus rather than easier.

I don't think you did anything wrong. Being homesick kinda comes with the job, and the pictures do help - a lot. What about asking him his choice? I know what my answer would be - I'd much rather have the pictures and be homesick.

Youre right.. hard to forsee peoples reactions. But in the long run I think the picture is a good thing. Might make him sad right now, but it will stay in his memory and keep him closer to home.

I bet if you would have asked him if he wanted to see a picture of her or if he would rather not, he would have told you to send it.

As much as he misses everyone and is homesick, I bet he still loves seeing pictures of everyone at home.
