Is there a website that will look thru my computer for freeto see if I have a virus?

After trying to sign in on Chase's site, a page came up asking a bunch of questions that I shouldn't have answered. But since I had done a system restore on my computer the day before, I thought the cookies had been erased. But now Chase is saying that they don't have a page that comes up.

I have contacted all 3 credit companies and put a fraud watch on them

I have changed my password on line for Chance. Can't change my pin till tomorrow.

Trying to be proactive.

Any suggestions?

Chase has that page come up asking you to authorize your computer when it doesn't recognize the computer. They ask you a couple of secutiy questions and then will send a temporary code to your e-mail, phone (whatever you choose that they have on file). If you did a restore, this is most likely the problem. Just to be sure, give Chase a call and tell them you did a restore and ask them if you should be getting that screen.

ETA: If you type in chase.com and get that message, it isn't a virus. You would only be getting that unfamiliar page if you clicked on a link from another source.

I have Chase on my favorites list. It was not a outside link.

You are making me feel a whole lot better!!

I cancelled my debit card.

So hopefully nothing will happen.

I work for a bank (not Chase) but part of my job is online banking.

If you did a system restore, your cookies most likely would have been deleted. When you signed in to your online banking, your computer probably wasn't recognized and that's why it asked you the additional security questions.

BUT... all that being said... your own virus protection should be able to scan your computer and you should be doing that on a regular basis anyway to keep things all nice and secure :)

Bank of America does the same thing. If I try to log on to my account from a new computer, I have to answer an additional security question first.
