Just look at 'adults only trip to DLP' on this thread!! x

What did you say to them.
Take it they havent called you back yet?

Nope they havnt called back yet
Im sure they wont bother!
Thing is its costing me a fortune having to call them chasing up on them all the time.

Do you know how much a 0870 number is??? Im on BT....

Hope it isnt a shocking price! :scared1:

sara, did you get a dayand night free package when you booked? We always go this week in november and we have to wait till june to book, normally november has these package deals on, 5 fo 4 etc, fingers crossed for you:cutie: julie

Try this site -i know i used it before as Thomas Cook Sig gave us the run around over our booking last year, basically put in the number and it will bring up the non 0870 number,it`ll be 01733 as they are based in peterborough.
If it gives you a switchboard number go through that and asked to be put through to the correct department

ohhh thank you sooooooooooooooooo much for that.
so kind of you, cus its costing me a fortune....
ive found the number, will call it now and ask to speak to a manager cus im getting know where with the customer service advisors

I have always found thomas cook trips to disneyland really over the top as they charge extra for themselves. It is very odd that they seem to be adamant that there are so few rooms left in the hotels. we went on 17th November last year and we got a disney hotel offer of 1 extra day and night free so maybe you should ask if it applies to you too!

I said on your other thread that 11th November is a french public holiday so the parks are going to be extremely busy, maybe they are just presuming the hotels to be exceptionally busy during this period cos of the public holiday.

Hi, i'm so sorry to hear about your problem, complaiing is a big headache isn't it, check www.howtocomplain.co.uk they have lots of helpful information on there.
Let us know how you get on!

Thanks Mulan 1

Of course they havnt yet phoned back, so i phoned last night after being left to hold for 18 minutes, asked to speak to a manager and was told they are all busy and i cant speak to a manager.
So no phone call this morning so i phoned ''TRADING STANDARDS''
They told me that under ACT 1992 REGULATIONS 12
if the prices change in May, either increase or decreace i have the right to demand a suitable service, so either cancel my holiday all together or Ammend my holiday to what i feel is suitable WITHOUT fees or penalties.
Just tried to call Thomas Cook Direct back to explain this and demanding to know what they are going to do about it but GUESS WHAT: ????

Yep was left waiting for a further 20 minutes listening to a annoying song  so i gave up and hung up!
(im sure they recognise my phone number and decide not to answer me)

Trading standards work together with APTA and they said they cant do anything until May when prices come out but i have a choice to wait until May and hand it over to them to sort out for me and they will phone Thomas Cook themselves to sort it.

It is very odd that they seem to be adamant that there are so few rooms left in the hotels.

Companies like Thomas Cook and others like fore example Tui are allowed to "buy" a curtain amount of chambers in the Disney hotels.
Lets just say 10 rooms in hotel New York.

They just "buy" as much rooms as they think they can fill.
One of the strategies to fill them is by saying there are only two rooms left.
The costumers thinks "o my let my book this room quick ore else ...".

Disney gives a curtain amount of rooms to the travel organizations but not all of them.
That's one of the reasons why a room is booked out with your travelburo and if you call Disney directly they got plenty of that same room left.

As another example Disney never sells the Castle Club rooms to any travel agency.
They always have to call Disney and ask if they may book a CC room for you.

We are staying at the Dream Castle Hotel which is off site and isnt a Disney Hotel, i dont know if that makes any difference in the fact that they where able to sell a Disney Packages before the new prices are even out....
Im not sure if what they have done is allowed and lagite :confused3
I am totally confused about the whole thing really.
But all i know is that I would have liked to be told before booking that the price that i have been charged are based on last years prices and then new prices will be out in May.
I think customers should be told and this explained to them so they have a choice to either buy now or wait until May.
Me personally if i had known i would have waited until May so we had a chance to save up our deposit and not have to struggle that month with a £225 deposit coming out of our January salary! :scared1:
Also if i had known i would have waited to look in the Broushure to see what parades and shows are on and then i could have worked my holiday around the things we wanted to see when we were there! :sad2:

I agree with this, Disney are releasing fewer rooms to travel companies as they are managing to book them up through there own company. The latest financial info has stated that hotel occupancy has increased again so it will make sense for them to keep hold of as many rooms as possible to sell for themselves.

If you keep having to dial 0870 numbers, if you use google you can find sites that let you dial a prefix number before the number you need and the costs are cheaper then BT.

Hope you get it sorted. Personally I would try to cancel & book with someone else.

Is it possible te cancel your ressie?

Is it possible te cancel your ressie?

We have been told that if we cancel we will loose our deposit of £225

If we Ammend our holiday by moving it forward inorder to be at Disney for 1 day of the weekend to see the Parade we want to see then we have to pay
£90 amendment fee

If we add an extra day to our holiday, come home on Saturday instead of Friday then we will be charged £209 for the extra day and apparently that includes Admin Fees! :headache:
Theres no way out!

The only reason we went with them is because my husband gets Bonus Bond vouchers at work as part of a bonus so we thought we could save these to pay for the holiday as it would be a struggle to pay cash.
Unfortunately Thomas Cook Direct are the only people who take these Bonus Bond Vouchers.

I'm so sorry for you.
As I read this whole story TC has lied to you and now they let you hang.
Doesn't there exist a commission that you can complain to?

We have such an independent commission called : Issue Commission for travels.
We can just go there and send a written complaint.
They will look into the matter and give an advice that must be obeyed by customer and travel

I think there is a similar company called ABTA
The Trading Standards will pass on the information to them so we shall see what happens.
I am just so angry that they are not even bothering to deal with it.
If they would have said to me ''im sorry that we didnt mention that the price was based on last years prices and we promise to match the price when the new prices come out in May if the price is cheaper then our qoute, Or at least appoligise and offer a complimentry free night there or even not charge me the Amendment fee to push the holiday one day forward ''

THEN MAYBE
i wouldnt be so angry and would have excepted the appoligy, but theres no appoligy not even botherd to call back and the fact i was refused when i wanted to talk to a manger.
The are not bothering to sort it out and make their customers happy, just continuing to treat me un-fairly

This can also happen the other way round. One year all Disney hotels were sold we could not get a room in any off the Disney hotels when we contacted Disney direct. But a travel agency had some rooms in the Santa Fee free and so we booked our stay.

Just got back home from taking my dd to the park, i found an answer machine message and it was from TC Direct.
Lady left me a mesage saying that she spoke to the manager and unfortunately they are unable to wave the amendment fee of £90 if we wanted to bring the holiday forward by one day in order to be there one day of the weekend.
Well im going to wait for the new prices to come out in May and see the difference in price and any offers that i have missed out on.
And will probably go down he trading standard route and let them deal with TC Direct as i was told that under the 1992 act regulation 12 i am entitled to amend or canel my booking with no fees or panalties charged to me, only if there is a difference in price in May, either a increace in price or decreace in price.... if price is the same then i will be unable to do anything.
They shouldnt be allowed to do this, and even if they do continue to do this they should definately makesure they explain this to their customers before selling the holiday package, so we are aware that we are being charged last years prices and not the new prices that are still due to come out.

Have you called them back and explained that so they know what you may do if the prices are cheaper?

I think that being charged for making bookings then changing them is the norm! They will call it admin fees or something. Mind you i expected disney direct to charge a admin fee when I changed the date by more than a month and added more people to the list but they didnt charge a penny.
