See this hitchiker right outside the prison compound here. Two little elderly ladies pull over and let him in. People are nuts!!

With the news all over here about a missing elderly woman whose car turns up in Sarasota with evidence of "foul" play possibly involving someone this woman hires to drive her to FL, and these two little ladies pick up a stranger outside a prison compound!

There was a quirky story in the news here in NYC this weekend - two cute little old ladies from Moorestown (South Jersey, about 80 miles away) where they got in the car after visiting a friend, made a wrong turn, and were found three days later when their car ran out of gas on the 59th St. Bridge in NYC. Turns out that one has early-stage alzheimers, and the other is in her mid-eighties and was happy to be along for the ride. There are some mysteries with the story - one of them has a cut on her head for no clear reason, and the other one can't remember much about the ride except for pulling over at a rest stop for soda. But hey, they're found!

LOL, I don't guess its really funny but I could see my grandmother doing that. Just driving and driving....ROTFLOL! Poor old ladies.

That is why my mom does not drive anymore!!!

Earlier this year in Columbus we had quite a few people driving the wrong way down the highway. It was an epidemic.

One of them was a little old lady that was completely lost.

All I can say is where is her family?? What if something more serious had happened to her? The policeman that stopped her helped her find her way to I think it was a doctor appt.

Well where do we begin? Were they not raised responsibly? Were they not given the correct nutirents? The shake Assure can only do so much you know
How much television is invloved in their normal life? Good lord please tell me they are not wacthing the Golden Girls and then flipping over to Spike TV. That is just a disaster waiting to happen!
Lets dive deeper, are they lonely? Where are those good for nothing children that claim to love her. How about the Granchildren! Where are they! I want answers damn it!

Hopefully they knew him and he was just waiting for them to come pick him up.

Reminded me though of a sign we saw this summer, we had just left the Phoenix area and were driving to San Diego and in the middle of nowhere there are all these buildings and just before we get there is a sign that says something to the effect of

Arizona State Prison
Please do not pick up hitchhikers

There are actually signs like that posted all over the area! I guess that's one of the reason it surprised me.

My aunt (66 yrs old) has picked up hitchhikers! I have told her to never, ever do that again. One man had just gotten out of jail, she only drove him a couple of miles and dropped him off at a diner. She said he was very nice. Another was a younger woman and she was standing in the pouring rain. My aunt gave her a ride, the woman asks for money, my aunt gives her $5 and drops her wherever she was going, never thanked my aunt. Thankfully she hasn't been harmed but I was just floored that she would do something like this. She is very religious and believes in helping everyone she can. I'm sorry but I'm not EVER picking up someone I don't know. Too many crazies out there.
