Ok, I need some help, and I hope this is the right place to ask. We are going to Disney in a few weeks... My wife has spent the past year planning this vacation for our family, and she has thought of everything! She has put in so much effort to make sure my kids and I have an amazing experience, I want to do something special for her.

Does anyone have insights into some things I could do, either at the park or the hotel to surprise her and say thank you?

You could do one of the in-room celebrations from Disney florist. DH sent my mom and I a bouquet of flowers when we went down early for a work trip. Or, you could just have flowers or chocolate covered strawberries delivered? He did both of those for our anniversary in March...Sharrie's Berries is great!

While I love having DD6 go to the kids club and the hubby and I can enjoy an adult dinner and reflect on the vacation- I don't think I would make any changes to the schedule that she worked so hard on.

I think you should get her something that she can keep to remind her of the trip. If you didn't buy the memory package, maybe add that and you can have a really fun time taking all the pictures. Or if she likes jewelry, how about ordering from Disney.com ahead of time a bracelet/necklace, whatever she likes and present it to her on the first night of the trip. You can buy jewelry in all price ranges. The Alex and Ani bracelets are really popular now and they only run about $35.

Oh that is the sweetest thing!!! My dh bought me a card one vacation, thanking me for planning the perfect vacation. I would say having something delivered to your hotel or maybe a piece of jewelry to remind her of your trip, with a thank you card.

The memory package is a great idea, unless it really messes with your budget. That is something I really wanted, but have eliminated from our plans b/c of the cost.

The memory package is a great idea. I would enjoy doing the pick a pearl from epcot, and if you know the plans enough to know it would not interfere, I would love to do afternoon tea at the GF.

Pandora/chamilla bracelet with a special charm. Either the castle or something like that OR some statue etc. I am not a collector but I have the Mickey with the lil boy figurine cause it reminds me of my son. I love it.

What about flowers from the florist or a cake? That would totally surprise her!!

You could do the pick-a-pearl in Japan at Epcot. It is about $17 for the pearl (they do a little ceremony) and then you can have it set in a necklace or if she lucks out with "twins" you could have them set in earrings.

I'd say look at her schedule and find a night that you'll be in early. Get an in-room sitter to come hang with the kids while you and your wife sit by the pool under the stars with a bottle of wine.

I also vote for the memory maker and for not interrupting the schedule she laid out for your trip.

I hope that your wife appreciates your effort! It's absolutely wonderful and she's lucky to have a husband who is so grateful. Enjoy and let us know what you decide.

:) What about a special dessert being brought to the table as a thank you. I love the idea of the Pandora/chamilla bracelet...I too would not tweak the plans...she sounds like a perfectly wonderful OCD Uber Disney Planner like me!!

Definitely do not mess with the schedule! That is one thing that would have made me cry after all the hours I spent putting together the 'perfect' plan. If you look at the schedule and see an open spot ask if she has any plans for that time, play it off as being curious. If she says, 'oh that's so we can spend some time at the pool', maybe then you could schedule a massage or in-room sitter.
Personally, I'm not a fan of flowers, you know your wife best. I would have loved a gift that I could take home to remember the trip. You got lots of good advice, pick a pearl from Japan, a charm (the gift shop in the Contemporary had a lot to chose from). If she likes beer or wine you could do a personalized beer stine in Germany. I'm sure somewhere there are personalized wine glasses. Just think of something she enjoys and go based on that if you chose keepsake gift.
And if you don't already have the MemoryMaker package definitely, definitely, definitely.

Three words: Dooney and Bourke.

They make awesome, albeit pricey, Disney bags!

SO, OP, what did you decide on? I am sure many of us who are wives, are secretly wishing it was our DH who is posting and planning! :D

I would say get her a nice piece of Disney jewelry. DW had Mickey earrings and a bracelet from some of our trips. They have some pretty hie designs that are not just the old traditional MM head.

I would surprise her with the Memory Maker, but because that's really a gift for all of you, I'd also get her a gift when you are there.

et the week play out..see what she enjoys and why items she comments on in the shops. Then get it on the last night to thank her. It will have more meaning that way because you've focused on a particularly part of the trip that she liked or an item that she saw but didn't want to spend the money for (on herself).
