We are going 12/20-12/26 this year - its a surprise for now, we may tell them closer to time, or we may wait until school gets out.

I have all our ADRs (except Candlelight) booked, and a wishes dessert party.

I have a BBB appt for my youngest DD, but I am looking for ideas for my 13 year old DD. I'd like to book her something special too...

Suggestions? Tours, events etc. Activities at resorts (I thought about archery or a trail ride) If you've done them, let me know your experiences.

Mermaid package at Pirates League!! I did it when the 4th pirates movie came out and it was introduced. I loved it!

Also you could do afternoon tea at the GF, or check into the teen spa at GF or Saratoga Springs

Oh also I enjoyed the trail ride at Ft Wilderness and it was a lot of fun

Also there's renting sea raycers at any of the marinas on bay lake which is fun as well

Tea wouldnt be her cup of tea - but the mermaid package might. Thats not limited to <12?

No, there's no age limit on the Pirate League. Even adults can do it.
Tours are trickier because she's not 16, but she could do the Wild Africa Trek at AK. I know they used to do a dolphin experience at Epcot -- does anyone know if they still do that?

On our trip last January my parents surprised my sister and I with the dolphins in depth tour in epcot that a pp mentioned and it was amazing. There's only 8 people in a group and you get a really neat experience with a lot of information. The first part is almost like a class to learn about the dolphins which was really interesting but in the second part you get to put on a wetsuit and get in the water with two dolphins. You interact with them and touch them and get your photo taken that's printed out for you. We also got bags and pins. It's kind of a hefty price but I thought it was a great special surprise for us.

Would she like going up in the hot air balloon? Characters in Flight at DTD looks pretty neat, it is actually on my bucket list of things to do!

Would LOVE to do this, and I saw she can do it but she'd need a paying adult with her, so $400 is probably a bit much. Although, MOM would love that too, and my birthday IS on this trip...:rotfl2:

Have you looked into the YES Program? There are SO many cool workshops for kids! Check out the Individual Enrollment ones, and Kingdom Keepers Quest if she's into the Kingdom Keepers books. The workshops are educational, but really fun. There are lots of different topics to choose from - history, science, animals, animation, leadership, storytelling, etc. Kids over age 12 don't need a chaperone, so she can attend the class on her own. Classes are typically 3 hours long, and are held in the parks. Plus, you'll get a discount on your park tickets after purchasing the class! Here's the link for more info: http://www.disneyyouth.com/our-programs/education/

How "old" is she? At 13, is she more into kiddie things or adult things? Would a nice meal just the two of you appeal to her? What about a tour? There are some for her age group.
YES is a good idea too. They have tons of interesting stuff that I want to take! Fort Wilderness also has lots and I like the balloon suggestion too. We did that 2 years ago. It was a great experience.
