My daughter and son-in-law asked me to go with them on a quick trip at the end of the month. They purchased the Behind the Scenes Tour at MK as a birthday gift for me. They haven't been in WDW since they got engaged there four years ago. My DD and I have made a few trips during that time. I would really like to surprise them with something only the two of them will do during our trip. I know they won't be happy that I am staying behind but I am good with that. So now I need ideas as to what I can do. They are not into the nice dining options (we all eat like birds when at WDW). We have tickets for MNSHHP as well. I am stumped. Ideas please.

Would they like Cirque du Soleil, or maybe one of the dessert parties that are in place to enjoy the Fireworks in MK, DHS, or Epcot? Or a nice couples massage at the Grand?

I am the Mom who gets included on trips too, and I love that! I will say that with the exception of me booking Sanaa for the adults on our last trip awhile I booked 190 PF for myself and the girls, I have yet to be able to toss my DD and DSIL off alone, and that is in 10 years of traveling. And that meal was because I did not ask, I just did it and sent the bunch off on their merry way. I would say not to be too upset if they really do not want an experience alone, leaving you behind. They may mean it, and would prefer that you join them.

I am laughing now because I can still hear my DGD complaining that "she can't get rid of them." when she told me that she kept telling her Mom and Dad, (my DD and DSIL) to go to Disney alone without her, she would be fine with Nana. They won't! LOL!

Do you have an evening where you could go over to POR and surprise them with a carriage ride? That would be nice and romantic. You can shop, enjoy the grounds, see Yeehaw Bob (if he is on that night). And when they are done you could all take the boat to Disney Springs.

Yeehaw Bob is on our agenda for the day we arrive. They were the ones that actually saw him first and got me hooked. I know my SIL cannot wait to see him again. The carriage ride sounds nice but I know they would force me to go especially because I love the carriage rides myself. LOL.
