Something romantic for room at AKL *UPdate if you're looking to do something

Hi

OK, I have changed our resort 15 times for this trip and finally snagged an AKL room at the rate I wanted a couple days ago so I switched the first portion over to that. The SO doesn't know, he still thinks we're going to CBR for the 5 nights. So it's going to be a surprise when we get to the airport and I wanted to arrange something like the chocolate covered strawberries or something similar for the room. I have read the posts about having this done before but can't find anything on how to do it at AKL. Any input would be great.

I considered a gift basket for him, but couldn't really find anything I thought he would want. I figured sweets always work.

UPDATE - I called the AKL direct and asked for the Private Dining Dept as suggested...they had quite a bit to choose from and they were super nice. I ended up with the "Honeymoon Package" which was supposed to be Champagne and Zebra-striped chocolate covered strawberries but I switched the champagne to the Cape Blush. It's $49.50 including tax and gratuity. They said they'd leave a msg on the phone to call when we arrived for a surprise and they would deliver, he'd have to be in the room for the alcohol delivery of course. They had quite a few choices if anyone is looking to do anything, better priced than the other options I was looking at. Thanks for all the help!

You will love AKL! We feel in love with it! I would ask for Zebra Domes from Boma. They are wonderful! And how about a bottle of African wine also? Don't forget your binoculars. I really wish we had ours!

I know they have room service available at AKL. Have you considered calling the resort and asking to speak to someone in room service. Perhaps they can assist you with setting up the strawberries ahead of time. Or maybe contact Boma for some ideas?

Just call the AKL and ask to be transferred to the private dining department. They can definitely assist you with that. You may have to call them after you check-in to have it delivered, but you can at least let them know what you'd like and on which day.

The Disney florist also does a great job. Not sure what they have for baskets, but they will also work with you to put something special together. You can check them out on line at www.disneyflorist.com.
