most favorite restaurant and am sad to say that we will NEVER return again!! It was SO discusting I hate to even think about it! My poor ds found a baby cockroach in his salad. Now, I know that this can happen anywhere, but I NEVER thought it would be in the confines of my beloved Disney world!!!! Has anyone else ever had this happen to them while at WDW?

Better than finding half a roach...

This is so true!!! Fortunately my ds had a great attitude and decided that his new favorite thing at WDW is "It's tough to EAT a bug!!"

I didn't mention which one because I am not sure if the moderators would like that or not.

Are you 100% POSITIVE it was a roach? There are several insects that look similar and could easily have come in that day on a fresh shipment of veggies or fruit. I can't think of what they are called, but there's one that is very close that is common in banana leaves, for example, and finding one in your food would not be any indicator of a dirty restaurant.

No, I am not positively sure it was a roach as I could not even look at it! But, judging from the reactions (all were as horrified as we were) from our waitress, the manager and the chef and staff that saw it, I am pretty sure it was. In fact, the manager that came over to speak to us stated that the restaurant is treated every 2 nights for just this problem. They obviously comped us for the meal- not that that was a big deal mind you as we were on free dining. The whole reason I started this thread was because this place was our favorite and now I am heart broken that I can never even think of going there again.

We were eating at a really fancy restaurant somewhere in Texas.

My friend's salad had a lady bug.

Lady bugs are not cockroaches, but she was a little freaked.

Welcome to the south!! :wave2: Any humid ex-swamp has roach problems, I'm not at all surprised they spray several times a week. It's gross as all get-out though, not sure I would be able to go back either, LOL!

Hi there! I was in line behind you at POP Century on Monday when you related the story to the cashier. Small world, eh?

WELL, NOT a Roach lol..BUT i did have a YUCky ( and I mean YUCKY) Bug  in MY salad at a WDW resort Rst.... Hubby and i were mortified But what are you going to do...We were on the dining plan at the time so nothing was done/ we didnt have to pay for the meal anyway..BUT we WONT go back too that RST.....

Isn't never going back a bit of an overreaction?

A bug can happen anywhere once. If it's a recurring problem, then yes, I'd think about crossing that one off my list. But because it's been so good in the past as to be your favorite, well to cross it off for one incident seems a bit premature.

Maybe it was one of the many menu modifications due to free dinning plan? :lmao: lol

Ehh.. Don't feel too bad you guys! At least at WDW you can pick and choose where you eat... we found bugs big like roaches, but aren't sure what they really were, in our cafeteria in high school.
