We love the atmosphere, food, family time, fun! We go as a big group - my parents, my sister and her family and my family. My parents love it because they get to spend time with 4 high school/ college aged grandsons with NO girls along! Our boys still love being with the family so we consider ourselves very lucky and Disney is our happy place - we never sweat the negative stuff - we just move on!

One of my favorite things is waiting for rope drop at MK, when the train arrives with all the characters aboard. It's just utterly magical--I literally get tears in my eyes, which I know is ridiculous!

One of the best things I enjoy at WDW is seeing the faces of the children as we go into the MK in the morning. My kids are older now and have been a lot. I like to watch the reaction of the youngsters, many of who are first timers, when they step out onto Main Street and see the castle for the first time. It brings back so many good memories of when my kids experienced it, especially my DD. She was 4 almost 5 and when she saw the castle in the distance, she stopped and stared and literally her mouth was hanging open. That's one thing I will always remember and I thank Disney for it.

Focus on the positive .. just the character and 'ambience' of the place.

I think a lot of people focus on the rides (and getting on as many as possible..) but the magic is what you make of it.
To me the magic is seeing the well designed buildings and themes .. or the shows ... or the street performers .. or the parades ... things that make WDW more than just an amusement park with a bunch of rides (like any Six Flags park) .. WDW is a true "theme" park.

I honestly could just walk around those parks and not go on a single ride and my vacation would still be magical.

Check out the "videos" from TOT and 7DMT-your band should capture them, and then log in on the internet, they are very fun.

Oh and a pleasant surprise was DHS Frozen sing a long-super sick of it but in a way that's what they play off. A lot of adult humor and great actors-have seen it a few times and would go again just for the "stand up" element.

We noticed a positive turn in line etiquette last year. In the past, we encountered groups cutting ahead, looking for the rest of their party or a couple of people waving to the rest to catch up to them. This last year we noticed more often than not, if groups or families were split up, the people ahead would step aside, motion for the line to proceed and wait to join the others when the line got to them. This might be a small thing, but it was nice to see people being more courteous and aware of more than just themselves.

Also, we had a couple of pleasant surprises while dining. After avoiding a few places for years because of the quality and menu, we decided to give them another try, and we were glad we did.

Thanks for starting a positive thread. Everything may not go according to plan, but hey, your at Disney, sharing experiences with family or friends, and that sounds pretty good to me.

My husband works 90+ hours per week, and gets 2 weeks of vacation per year. I don't remember the last time we went to dinner when he wasn't doing work at the table; and in the past two years, we've had exactly two 'dates'. We'll have 10 days of vacation (8 in the parks) when he won't be doing any work at all, which is reason enough to celebrate!

We'll also be with my parents and brother, who we normally only see once a year (because of distance). We love spending time with family, and it also means g'ma and g'pa can watch the grandkids sometimes and we can hopefully squeeze in a third date while we're in Orlando!

My parents and brother haven't been to WDW nearly as often as my DH, DD and I, and they've never explored any resorts. I'm excited to show them around the monorail resorts and Boardwalk area.

This will also be DS's first time at WDW. We're familiarizing him with different characters and movies, and he's loving it! We can't wait to see his face when he meets 'Mick Mick' in person!

We also can't wait for the warm weather. Even if it rains, at least we know it won't snow!

I'd read plenty of 'horror stories' about how impossible it is to book BOG, and how hard it is to get some other dining reservations. But we had no trouble getting all the meals we want at the days and times we want! This includes: BOG dinner (6:30), BOG lunch (11:45), 'Ohana dinner, Hoop Dee Doo cat 1, CRT pre-opening breakfast, Boma dinner, Sanaa dinner (5 pm to watch animals), Tusker House late breakfast (to try both breakfast and lunch items), Via Napoli lunch, Aksershus lunch, Kona early breakfast,... We're going in late May, and we still easily found everything we want. It can be done!

I had similar concerns when DH and I did our FP+ selections last night. I was prepared to not get A+E, the 7DMT, etc. But we also got all the FP+ we want (also for our entire party)! A+E following our DD's BBB appointment (and another A+E on a different day in case we miss the first for some reason), 7DMT, Fantasmic!, Festival of Fantasy Parade, TSMM, Soarin',... It was much easier than I was led to believe and had feared.

We picked random dates for our trip, and are happy that our vacation happens to encompass F&G, SWW, and the 24-hour event! Since we didn't plan on those events when we booked, they're a bonus.

It also sounds like even though there is a lot of construction happening, the walls are slowly coming down. I'm excited to see DHS without the hat; and the Hub looks beautiful in pictures. We still haven't seen the new Fantasyland, which we're looking forward to. I'm sure DD and DS will love it (and we probably will, too)!

There are a lot of things to be thankful for.

My last visit to AK, I had a fast pass to Lion King. It'd been a year or so since I had seen it, so I was looking forward to it very much. In the section I was sitting, right in front of me, was a family with a special needs child using the stroller as a wheelchair. Right before the show began, they moved them to the next section as they were afraid the stroller might be in the way of the performers entering. At the point in the show where they have children from the audience dancing around in a big circle, I saw the boy's sisters in the procession. And behind them, a CM pushing the stroller! The boy had a huge smile! I glanced over at their mom and saw her taping it, smiling and crying at the same time. Magic still happens at Disney- and I'm grateful to have witnessed this bit of Pixie Dust. (By the way, the mom was the only one with a smile and tears. They were very nice to talk to before the show.)

132 days until our next trip and I can't wait. I have stopped reading the negatives on the boards because I am not going to let it impact my trip. I am most looking forward to our new "home" for this trip -Wilderness Lodge.

Last trip was May 2014 and we loved the parades, fireworks, evening magic (there is just something about the parks after dark) and a more relaxed pace. Also DD discovered SOTMK and can't wait to do that again this year.

ETA: I agree you will always seem more negative then positive, that's the exact reason I started this thread to see some positive since people in general will post more about negative experiences, I wanted a place to post about the positive ones!

I had a nose job and the plastic surgeon told me that no one would ever notice or point it out because people only point out the bad and never the good... Boy was he right!!!

I am most looking forward to doing BBB with my DD(5). I also can't wait to show AK to my DH, he's never been! And eat a Mickey bar, (I only had a bite of DDs last trip and I want one of my own!)...

This is the first trip for me with ADRs too! Never had those! I'm looking forward to eating ANYTHING (even if Disney food sucks now!) that doesn't come from a cart or a QS line!!!

I have been reading a lot of negative comments lately about the down fall of WDW. Some I agree with from my last trip (Dec 2013). However its getting me a little discouraged for my up coming trip.

So I thought maybe people could post things they love or anything positive about their most recent trip!

I'll start I love the snacks all over Disney, School bread, Dole whips, Mickey bars anything from France!!! Looking for new things to try this trip too!

ETA: I agree you will always seem more negative then positive, that's the exact reason I started this thread to see some positive since people in general will post more about negative experiences, I wanted a place to post about the positive ones!

Believe me, I am not a fan about all of the negativity. I understand people have different opinions but it's just too much most of the time.
When I went last summer, I had the most amazing time. For TS ADRs I ate at 1900 Parke Faire Akershus in Norway, Kona, Beaches and Cream, Kimonos (Swan resort), BOG, and much more. All were wonderful. Character meals are my favorite type of meals, but BOG beat out everything. It's wonderful there. If you can get any type of reservation for there, I would definitely try it!

For snacks, I always love the bakery in France, and dole whips. There is so much more but those are my highlights.

I went to all 4 parks and make sure you try many attractions. Do some character meets! Also, maybe try something you have never done before, whether it is new or not.

Also, when at MK, make sure you stay for at least one of the parades and of course Wishes. That is a perfect end to a night in MK IMHO!

Relax, get excited, because YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!

Have a magical trip!
