Something on the DIS causes my computer to shut down

When I click on certain threads (on the CB) I keep getting a box that pops up and says "Microsoft Internet Exlporer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then I have an option whether or not to send an error report.

Anybody else get this, and does anyone know why?

It happened a lot yesterday (Friday) and so far 3 times since I've been online--in a 40 minute time span.

It's obviously a problem with I.E., but what kind of problem?

Oh--I have a new Dell (well, it's still new to me, got it in January.) We have I.E. 5.05

Not sure what could be causing this. My only SUGGESTION is to try downloading IE again. PLEASE NOTE: IE is a MAJOR part of Windows. DO NOT DELETE IT.

Thanks Dom13, I'm going to wait it out over the weekend. So far it's only been 3 times today!
