The thread about the CA rope drop and TSMM & Soarin made me think about the last time we went to DLR.

We were at the VERY front of the rope drop at DL. We all zipped over to IJ and were absolutely the 1st ones there. We thought we'd be the first ones in line but when we got there, there was a 5 - 10 minute wait!!:confused3

I thought, "what the...?" I know no one passed us. Since the wait was only a few minutes I didn't sweat it but I've always wondered how someone got there ahead of us.

Is there another way to IJ other than the spoke if you're going from Main Street?

Were there people in front of you? or was the wait due to the ride cycle when you watch the flim? There may of been a group in the park already.

could have been people with magic morning early entry into the park and they got a little head start.

Maybe a group that had breakfast in the park before it opened? I imagine if they finish early they get a minute or two headstart on everyone else.

Was it a Magic Morning day (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday)?? If so, regular park guests line up on Main Street behind the rope while those with MM privileges can enter the park an hour early. Only Tomorrowland and Fantasyland are open during MM, but those people would be in the park *just* ahead of you if you were at rope drop.

Magic morning or breakfast at Plaza Inn :goodvibes

I remember the 1st time ever we went to WDW (Epcot on the 1st day) we arrived at 10:00 am & thought that was early :lmao: we were such amateurs....

Sorry forgot about this post.

It wasn't a MM. We went in early on the MM. And, YES, we did get to ride the ride (after a 5 minute wait or so).

Didn't know you could get in the park early to eat breakfast. Will have to remember that.

Breakfast is not the reason why. You can't eat and run quickly enough on a non MM day. Also you can't go to rides first unless the park is already open.

During MM you can't go into Adventureland.

I think it was an opening post of 5 minutes due to the ride cycle and you can not get to IJ before the park opens..the CM's will not let you past the Tiki room in my experience.
