I know that airlines are allowing passengers to make changes (without charge) to their reservations made before the war started, but looks like Spirit is going to allow it for any flights you book now. The following is part of an e-mail I received from them... ~:D~

New features at spiritair.com include user-friendly web site tools that allow passengers the freedom to:
· Print round trip boarding passes up to 45 days in advance
· Select seat assignments on each segment of their flight
· Change the date and/or destination of their flight with no fee at least one month prior to departure

Wow, that's really nice!
We fly out of Chicago and have thought about trying them, but their times are not compatible with our Disney cruise schedule. I'm hoping to give them a try someday if they ever add more flights. It's nice to see an airline making things easier for passengers for a change.

Wow, that's good news for me! Spirit has the lowest fares right now for our dates, but I'm reluctant to book 6 months out with that $75 change fee. I wonder if there are any restrictions (small print)? I think I'll go check their website and see if there's any info there.
EDIT: I checked the site and they only mention this feature for travel agents, otherwise for passengers only through 4/17. I signed up for the emails so maybe I'll get the info. Thanks for the heads-up!

I checked again today and I found it. Wow, they are allowing changes to destinations or dates with no charge! Now I am so torn. Spirit has the best fares and the best times so far BUT: Southwest (much closer to me) has not released their Oct. fares yet, AND I am waiting to see the dates for MNSSHP to make sure we can catch it, otherwise we may change to the following week. I hate these decisions!!!:smooth:

In reading this it looks to me like you have to make the change no later than one month in advance. You might want to verify that if you are like me and make your changes up until the last minute (which is why I like SW)

Can you explain the SW policy? Do they have no change fee EVER? I looked at their website but was not really able to determine that. Can you use the entire cost of the fare towards a later fare? If so, this airline sounds too good to be true. I'm sure when the Oct. fares come out they'll be sky-high.;)

SW has no change fee and if you cancel a non-refundable ticket you get a credit that you can use to purchase future travel. That is one of my favorite things about that airline.

Wow, talk about a quick reply! Thanks. I can't wait for those Oct. fares!
