Something I've been pondering...

We used to would send it to like,
Santa Clause, North Pole.
I always asked my mom how it got to him when it didn't have an address or an area code :P

We always get a letter back. It's a generic letter that's used over and over again, but they edit it to add your name. And then at the end someone who works there or volunteers there writes a little tidbit on the bottom.

we pretty much just wrote:

mr or mrs santa
north pole
arctic circle

then we ditched it in some mail box, conveniently forgetting stamps and a return address :santa:

i don't remember... the question is, what happens to them? Do they get sent to an actual address in the North Pole or do they just get chucked... "things that make you go hmm..."

In my town there's a special post office box marked "North Pole" around Christmas, and we put them in there.
And my letters were always responded to by an "elf" named Shorty.

Like, I would write questions in my letter about the North Pole and life up there and draw a picture for Santa, and Shorty would write back every year answering my questions and saying that he put up my picture in the elves workshop and everyone loved looking at it.

I would get SO excited when those letters came back!
The return address just said "Santa Claus Lane, North Pole."

If you don't mind hearing the mystery behind it, hilight here -> One of the fifth grade classes in my elementary school was responisble for answering all the little kid's letters in town, and everyone got their own elf. I think that's such a cute idea.
