Something I need to share.....

Totally agree Kevin.

Growing up in Jamaica in the 60's there were two rival reggae singers, both of whom were supported fiercely by their fans. The fans started fighting one another, brawling in the streets etc. the government made the two singers come together for a photo op, shaking hands, saying there were no hard feelings.

The fighting stopped.

Thank you for being the government, Kev.

That one guy hurt my feelings by saying i dont know music. then this women said i was a troll. I've forgotten more disney than most people ever know, so that hit a nerve.

its over now as far as im concerned. Woman who called me a troll, can we have a peace accord?

Kevin! I'm listening to "A Christmas Cornucopia" right now! I *LOVE* it! Wonderful album. I could just listen to that voice all day. Lovely!

Thanks!

I'm willing, but it really depends on what you actually mean by that. If it means I have to accept your offensive comments, then no, we can't. If it means you'll stop being offensive, then I'm all in favor of an accord.

Woman, if i offended you in any way i'm deeply sorry. I take a few things very seriously. 1.Disney 2. Music 3. My pride 4. Heritage. I felt hurt on three fronts (my heritage was not brought up) and I may have taken a harsh tone in defending myself. On behalf of me, please accept my sincere apologies. MBT

Apology accepted, and I'm sorry you got hurt. QED.

I downloaded Annie to my iPod last night and will listen on the way to the airport today.

Now, everyone enjoy THEIR favorite holiday music! :goodvibes

I think you might be taken more seriously if you stop referring to people you do not know as "woman." That is offensive to many and even somewhat barbaric. I am happy to see that peace may have been made, but feathers have been ruffled by this including mine.

Back to the original topic-

Thanks for the tip on annie lennox. My wife is a big fan and I have to admit I enjoy her voice and emotion as well. I will be sure to check out the christmas music and probably add these to our growing list of christmas songs we play during the next month!

I just watched her a couple nights ago singing one of her songs for the lighting on Rockefeller. Totally won me over! I'm off to get it!~

IMO, Annie Lennox is one of the most talented and versatile singers around. She could have gone the easy route and stayed with the Eurythmics style that made her famous, but she's branched out doing more eclectic albums throughout her career, probably at the expense of monetary and mainstream success.

I saw her during the Mass Destruction tour at an extremely small venue in Toronto (for her at least). The intimate setting played very well to her depp crooning style.

My favourite of hers was her duet with David Bowie during the Freddy Mercury tribute concert, with Annie doing Freddy's part in "Under Pressure". Not an easy task, but she pulled it off and then some.

Between her many talents and her activism, she's definately a force to be reckoned with.

Brief Hijack:

It is not Christmas in our house until Stevie's version of that song is played.

( "Well, IT WAS AYE!! ")

End Hijack :)

I'd have to say the same thing about "Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues at our house, but that's a whole other thread.

The mp3 download is on sale at Amazon for $4.99.
Of course it is, since I bought the CD last week!

Oh, well, I've thoroughly enjoyed it for the last week!

Big thumbs up for this album! Buy it! $4.99 is a total steal!

Oh, that does it for me, too! Kirsty MacColl, very much missed.

I've added Straight No Chaser and the new Sing-Off Holiday Harmonies to the collection so far this year. Might have to add more to the list now...
