why oh why :confused3 do you have to pay to park (zoo, themeparks, fairs) you spend all that money for tickets then they want you to pay for parking.. like disney?? then at the fair you pay to park, pay to get in, and then you pay for the rides.. i would rather spend my money on food, or merchidise...

Because if they just included it, then everyone would be paying for it even if they don't use it. Since I generally don't park when I go to DLR, I'd rather pay for it when I DO park, but not pay for it when I don't.

I guess it's to help control the number of cars. If parking was free, a group might all take separate cars. However, if everyone has to pay $X to park, they would probably be more likely to carpool together in one vehicle.

Although I didn't park at Disney, I did hear about how bad it is to park, and it costs $14/day! Imagine how much worst it would be if there was free parking....

Disney needs the money to build more parking structure. There is one going up soon... because sooner or later, there will be more and more carts that needs to be parked and they have to go somewhere. Disney is really running out of land. :(

I think this is the real reason. Yes, it is a money maker. But it also encourages people to ride together and reduces the number of cars that need a parking spot.

I think the only time Disney cares about parking is when they run out of all the space and ancillary parking outposts are full, other wise it generates more revenue with very little outlay other than the initial capital expenditure.

Since I do not drive to the lots, it really is not a concern.
