We are headed the first week in June for our first visit to disney. I think we if be planning to do the BBB with our 6 year old. What is there for 10 year old boys that would make it special? We are leaving Friday night so Star Wars weekend is out. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

10 is tough because they aren't little anymore but aren't yet a teenager so what's cool for one could be very uncool to the next 10 year old. Personally, I would just tell him you are doing this special BBB thing for your dd and you'd like to do something special for him too but there isn't a good equivalent to a makeover for 10 year old boys. Tell him you want to get him something special in the parks and for him to keep his eye out for a cool souvenir.

What about trying to sign him up for the Jedi training academy? I don't know all the details because I've never been, but I read a bit about it last night. It's foy boys up to 12, so he might be the target audience for it.

Also, if he's not very 'grown up' for his age, I think there is a pirate makeover for boys.

My 10-year old did the Pirates' League and the Jedi Training Academy. He loved both!

And, . . . Welcome to the DIS!

A few years ago, we did the Princess breakfast for our daughter and the trade-off was lunch with Pooh and friends for him (he was into Pooh at the time). It was in the Crystal Palace in MK. We made it be "his" special character lunch.

If you have a car and go off site, the Nick Hotel does a character pizza dinner with the Ninja Turtles I think. They also do a breakfast with Spongebob every day. The Nick Hotel also does Double Dare shows etc. if he would rather do a show.

I think my boys would LOVE the pizza with the Ninja Turles and the Double Dare show. I looked on Nick hotel . com and saw the times for the pizza but not for the double dare show. Do you know how that works, do you buy tickets in advance or is more so geared towards people staying there?

Thanks!

My 10 yr old son just did the Pirate League in Nov. and he loved it. He asked if he could do it again when we go back this Nov. and he'll be 11 then. You can get on line and show him pictures and see what he thinks. My son also did the Pirate Cruise from the Beach Club and he had a ball with that too.

There's the Pirates League for boys, plus the pirate cruise that goes out of one of the resorts. You could also spend some time just you and him playing the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card game, and there's a new interactive game opening in Adventureland that's pirate themed. I think it should be open by summer. The interactive games cost no money and my 12 year old cousin LOVED the Sorcerers game when we went last. He actually begged one of us to stay behind with him and play while everyone else went on rides all day, because he just wanted to do that the whole trip.

My kids aren't interested in the Pirate's League or Jedi Training - we let them choose two character meals, so they have input and get their favorites.

I'm not sure where you are staying but...One of my son's favorite things is when we take some time and do a monorail game room loop. We ride the monorail and hit the game rooms at each of the resorts (you can even catch the boat to the WL and back to the CR to keep the loop going). Obviously pool hopping is a big "no no" but I don't think using the game rooms is (or at least I really hope not or I'm in big trouble!). It's always been a fun thing for us to do and to have some "boys time alone" fun.

My son loved the pirate cruise from POR. It was two hours on a Thursday morning, and only about $35. It was great for us too - a nice little kid-free break!
