Something fishy going on at ebay?? Update...

I think you did the right thing. Even if it turns out to be minor at least the authorities have a clue to watch E-bay for strange transactions.

I commend you for noticing this. These are the kinds of things we should all be aware of and report.

The looneyhouse...

Again, thank you for alerting someone to this.
I don't think it would be a "stunt", seems to weird. Why just UPS?
Ya know what I mean?

Please continue to keep up updated!

This is actually very interesting.

I believe that the writing was on the wall, Flight School Records, hotel rooms, rental agreements, passports, drivers licenses, one-way airline tickets, video cameras at airports AND the Internet before 9-11.

We missed it.

Thanks for the update.

Even if it turns out to be nothing better to be safe than sorry.

Bravo to you LooneyHouse!! I am the type to suspect strange things also and will not hesitate to call the authorities.

I think this was very smart of you to notice this. This is something that I never would have thought of. Even if it is not anything scary like terrorists it is probably something illegal whether it is drugs like someone mentioned or someone trying to drive up the prices. Either way it needs to be investigated and stopped!!

Thank you for being alert!!!

I think you did the right thing by reporting it. Maybe it's nothing but then again, it could certainly be a sign of suspicious activity. Federal and local law enforcement agencies routinely work with UPS because they know that few people pay attention to the comings and goings of the 'men and women in brown'.

What surprises me is the response you received from the company. The UPS I worked for was not so cavalier about their uniforms. We were never allowed to wear them unless we were on official duty. I remember people having to explain why they were spotted in the grocery store in uniform. They would certainly have been horrified to hear that they were being sold as Halloween costumes.

that is definitely frightening! Best case scenario I can imagine is drugs and/or money laundering. Worse case....I can't even fathom.

Eros I understand the cavalier attitude however, look at what CRB just posted. She's 100% correct there was a TON of evidence that was never picked up on. Not to mention all of the other incidents that were averted due to people paying attention and being suspicious.

Good job looneyhouse

And if I'm not mistaken, some of the tickets for 9/11 were bought over the internet.

A paper trail doesn't mean anything if you plan to die in the attack.

Thumbs up for reporting this - I agree with RM, better safe than sorry.

This whole thing probably is just a hoax or just strange bid series of bids on EBAY, but nonetheless I am glad that the original poster reported it to the proper authorities.

I honestly think that leaving a paper trail and then successfully carrying out some form of terrorism is a way for terrorists to really thumb their noses at us even more. To me it would be bold way for them to almost "test" our intelligence agencies and even the general public. The events of 9/11 are proof that there is no limit to the evil that terrorists would attempt. They were successful due in part to the naive and almost callous attitude most of us had......that no one would ever dare attack US soil.

I know at the air cargo section of our airport there is a UPS terminal with UPS planes (not little ones, jumbo jet cargo planes) coming and going all day long. Not that I want to post ideas for terrorists here, but that's just one possibility. Plus think of all the places that get deliveries via UPS....hospitals, utilities, banks, government and civic buildings, shopping malls.....to name a few. A UPS guy in uniform usually doesn't get a second look in most places (unless there's security) if they've got their electronic clipboard and a card full of boxes. But still, the uniform could and probably WILL get them through the door....and in some cases that's all it could take for them to cause mass casualties.

Sorry to ramble.....just my view on this and any other activities that you might be seen as suspicious.
Thanks for keeping your eyes peeled for the rest of us looneyhouse.

Just as an FYI, the FBI has confirmed that the story about the 19 men was MADE UP by someone else trying to divert attention from himself.

It still seems weird, but more likely drugs or some other shady activity IMHO.
