Something cool on Ebay

I bought one of these a few years back on Ebay. They don't come along real often. My understanding is they were sent out to travel agencies to promote FW. I suspect the price will go well above the $51.00 it is right now. But then the condition isn't the best.

LOL that reminds me that DW about a week ago in getting ready for our trip up to Maine next Friday pulled out a small crumpled paper sack that had the Musket Mickey on it that obviously came from the Meadows or Outpost many years ago. I thought about E-bay, but just said throw it out.

Well, it really can't be an "opening" poster. It has to date between June 1973 and the early 80's.

When FW opened in 1971 it only had 231 campsites and the poster clearly states "over 700". In June 1973 they added 481 sites, loops 700 - 1900.

Now the train ran until about 1981 so the poster can be anywhere in that time frame (unless someone else sees something to date it closer).

I also noticed that there is no comment about River Country on there so it was probably between 73 and 76? This was probably 1973 just after the additional campsites were added.

Very cool, but already to much for my pocket.

I am out. I bid more than I really wanted to and all I did was raise the bid.

I even had a place picked out on my wall for it. Of course, I would have had to spend another $100 plus just to get it framed properly.

$265.99 selling price. Thought it might go a little higher. Did any of us bid or win this???

I was just about to post as well. I was a bidder but not willing to go that anywhere near that high!

We're sorry you didn't win this time around. While this one got away, there's other stuff to find. Don't give up.

RARE 1971 Disney World FORT WILDERNESS Opening Poster
Sale price: $265.99

I bid really early on, but it blew by my price in a hurry!

I didn't bid on this one. I bought one about 3 years ago. It is nearly perfect, without the torn edges. I had the money at the time, and actually spent more than this for mine. It has been rolled up in a tube ever since. Really need to spend the money to get it matted and framed.
