Anyhoo - some answers for Barb.

Taxes - I used to do my taxes either before Feb 15 (when we were still doing audits and before we got into the tax rush) or else I waited until the last minute. Mr. Jaws insisted that be done by April 13 (didn't want to risk them not getting there). Since I made partner, we have to put our taxes on extension, due to the company's tax return and the pension contributions. (If you really want to know more, I can explain). So now they get done in September. I still have to go through most of the stuff by April 15 to see if I have to send them a check or not.

 SEPTEMBER!!!! Holy cow!

JawsCPA said:
Vacation - I don't my summer vacation plans either. Last summer we did not make any plans because hubby's mom was ill (cancer) and we weren't sure what would happen. (She passed away in early July.) I have asked him last week to start thinking about what he wants and where he wants to go and if his dad wants to come with us. So far, I've got no answers.

I am rooting for Orlando trip with Gramps as DH's brother lives in Deltona so we can visit them as well.

Dunno how ya do it :confused3 (like Janet) I LIVE for vacation....plunk money away daily, weekly and been making those cruise payments every month.....I have to have something in the works.... actually while ON vacation, we are usually planning the next years :rolleyes1

i already guessed universal.......

what do i win......?

You win 3 chances to guess "where" now....(narrow it down)

Most of the kids just brought backpacks for their clothes. But not my son, he brought a suitcase, 90 percent full of food! Guess he's worried they won't feed him!

Sorry to hear DH 'let ya down'....tell him he can 'make it up to you' at a later date :thumbsup2 I wish your son a lot of luck and a good time (you & DH too...enjoy that bed :cloud9: )...actually, your son was SMART to take a suitcase full of food....I'm sure the munchies are not "readily available" where he's going!

So glad we are off to SC tomorrow for two weeks!

Enjoy it! Gotta get that house furnished and get that "lived in" look before the nice weather :goodvibes

and is it tarheelmjfan with the back/neck problem right now (I forget - sorry and drawing a blank with your real name too)?? Feel better soon - I know the back pain thing....I was rear ended in May and still have issues off and on - DH is on a maintenance med for his back problems from many years ago as well......anyways

yep...it's Tammy with the bad back

Jinx mines missing too :headache:

SLEEP NUMBER BED HERE !!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

I am going to post the photos of the semi done room as soon as I get on our basement computer . I have no idea how to do it from DH lap top .:surfweb: :confused3 . I guess sooner or later I should learn .

Teeth are feeling a little better today :thumbsup2 . Had to be the fact the dentist put his fingers in there and poked around to see what was going on . I just want it over and done with I hate the dentist and I know I am like this :scared1: when I have to go there .

Glad you got your bed!!! Lookin' forward to pix and report in the morning....

And we are fussin' because we had to wear long sleeved shirts today?

Morning!

I have a headache and I'm crabby. You have been warned.

Seeing I didn't make it here all day....guess I'm safe!

Good morning (is it?).

any/every day you wake up is a "good" day :goodvibes

I am ticked at myself for falling asleep on the couch when I got home from work. I have just been sooo tired on this tour, and Savvy had one of those rare cuddly moments. It's so rare for her to snuggle that I relished in it. It was too calming and led right to a nap, so I'm hoping I can get to sleep now.

Don't be mad at yourself or feel guilty. Take those rare moments and cherish them.... I do the same with Bubba or DH or even my kitty (when she was still with us).... Whatever it was you was gonna do, will still be there when you are ready to get to it....snuggle with Savvy....one of the 'simple pleasures' in life.

It doesn't sound like there is much interest in March Madness, but when they make the announcement and the first brackets can be filled in, I'll see what I can come up with.

I'm with everyone else...I don't follow basketball, but I'm game for a 'pool' :goodvibes

Is anyone going to see The Other Boleyn Girl this weekend?

Nope...we rarely go to the movies....why pay the money when i can stay home, be comfy and watch for free? We only treat Bubba to a movie in Fla while we're at Dad's...AND the plane ride down and home (makes THAT go REAL FAST!) ....but, I agree....since Mike can't pick 'em, show him how it's dun! :thumbsup2

Maybe Bev could help with this one!

We will find out!

 good thinkin' sista! :thumbsup2

:upsidedow I just hope they have improved the simulator. :headache:

ya know...this is my thoughts: it could very well be improved because they would have to 'program' a 'new sequence' into it... OR, it's so old, it's jerky and doesn't move 'smoothly' anymore :confused3 Guess we'll have to wait and find out.....

Ugh! I do not like the new dis boards. Anyone else with me on that one?

Our forecast is 60 - 70's through Sunday then back down to the 30's onow won't that be a pleasant baseball game?:headache: :headache: :headache:

I'm okay except for the email notifications dropping out! I think our spring soccer practice starts in mid-March  WHY do they 'rush' this?? Why not early April? I don't wanna sit outside and freeze again! :headache:

Having DS12 play hookey tomorrow to go skiing with me on our way out to Madison for the State MathCounts competition, so I won't be around much! Keep it down to a dull roar!

Have yourselves a great time!

I owe a story about bird poop I believe. It really isn't anything magnificent but here goes.

We were at the Magic Kingdom.....

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: yeah...that would never happen at Universal!

Are we sure that stapling Daniel's pants to the back deck isn't an option?

I told you before...it IS an option....you just can't leave him IN them :rolleyes1

I finally get it all picked up (I hope) and I sit down here to relax for a few minutes. Then I make the mistake of scrolling through the CB, only to find YET ANOTHER "how old is too old to have a baby" thread.

Okay, I'll climb down off my soap box. Sigh.

11.gif
haven't we told you about going to visit there?

She will have to Find Out on her own. :darth:

I have 100% faith in our Bev ;)

:lmao:

There's a 74% chance that I start Monday.

74%? Seems like a really 'odd' number.....why not think positive and go with 75%?

I heard on the news today that Penny and I have had 89 inches of snow. :rotfl2:

Last year we had something like 24 inches. We both live along the coast, I can only imagine how much they have had inland and in the mountains.

Please post more warm springtime photos before Penny and I go stir crazy or worse.

:scared1: Oh my. I am so glad I don't live up there!

:scared1: Holy crap! In ONE year???? Mother Nature must be on Vitamin C (crazy)

this is neat.... :goodvibes pretty. cute. WARM!!!!

Well gotta run to a baseball game. I have heard that Mikey is pitching tonight. Sure wish he had told me.

See y'all later!

How'd he do????

i'm never going to be able to catch up, quickie note

nothing broke for ma but her spirit...she's home w/a walker instead of usual cane...very weak since nurses didn't get her out of bed for 4 days:rolleyes1 not able to do the stairs yet; certainly could be worse!

hope she bounces back, will set her up for PT etc. next week; expect things to be very busy next few weeks

evidently, i managed to strain my lower back after tossing 1/2 her junk so she could move around:confused3 1st time for me in lumbar area...owwie i reek of icy hot; wonder how long it takes to go away?

poor Ma. The good news is nothing is broked! Hopefully she'll be bak to her old self in no time. How old is she? She can't be that old... :scratchin If YOU don't feel better in a couple days, call doc....get good muscle relaxer :rolleyes1 Hopefully since she didn't break anything, she'll bounce back to "normal" really soon :goodvibes (we all know how badly this cuts into your 'vacation bargain huntin' time' )

i'm tapped out:upsidedow guess i'll just start trying to save & see what happens or else finally have to finance

fyi. thanx to all for the good wishes for ma:thumbsup2 i'm just not ready to go thru this with her

I've been saving since 2005 for Bubba's cruise :rotfl2: Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do! We save, save, save and then on vacation, go whole hog :cool1:

It's not easy to have to take care of a parent...mummydust for you :wizard: I don't think it's something you can ever be 'ready' for :confused3 But, she's lucky to have you there  (unlike MY Mom...who I constantly remind that I am the one who is picking out her refrigerator box when she/we retire to Fla. someday :rolleyes1 :rotfl: )

Hey Homies!
Just poppin' in for a minute....got to start supper in just a bit... Lori, my DH has a bird poop story about my older DS and my nephew from Animal Kingdom, not in the hair though  I know you were mortified!
I saw Damo's post on the spot to write your name at Margaritaville. If anyone goes soon, they may see mine....I went to the area where everyone writes their names on the wall by the restrooms on the first floor closest to the main entrance. I didn't take a picture, but it's just to the left of the pay phone.

Hi yourself!!! More pix?? You gots more??? :hyper:

Don't know if you all know but did you hear about Boyd Coddington of A&E's american hotrod died yesterday :sad1:

:confused3

Even when I want to super glue Daniel to the ceiling to keep him out of trouble.

Okay...I draw the line here...that is dangerous and NOT an option! (although, tying him to a chair is a thought :scratchin )

Cute twin story from my babysitting today. First off, remember that the twins are 2 year old boys. Well, David smacked Adam a good one (as he is prone to do for some strange reason) and I looked at him and said my normal, "Oh David, that makes me so sad when you hurt Adam." He looked very remorseful and covered his face in his hands. Then I said, "Now what do you say to Adam?" At which point he quickly removed his hands from his face and yelled a cheerful, "Peek-a-boo!!!"

Have to say, I laughed a lot. So much for my effective discipline.

 :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: Out of the mouths of babes.....

Hi all- I haven't been here in a day or two. I really can't catch-up.

I need immediate prayer request for my dad.
He just went into the ER. He is in the examining room now in the ER.

:wizard:  Hope he's okay....

The boys asked if Daddy could give them their bath tonight. I wonder why.

Mohawks.jpg

:rotfl:

:lmao: yep....the 'classic' mohawk in the tub/shower shot....we gots one too :rolleyes1 I love Daniel's face....so innocent like 'I didn't do it!" :rotfl2:

Rose, prayers sent your way

Tricia...the boys are soo cute! Loving the hairstyles :thumbsup2

I always hated getting my picture taken in the tub...than again, I was 21....

j/k:thumbsup2

Who are you kidding?? You know you DF takes your pix..in the shower, and other 'unmentionable' places :rolleyes1

Great pic Alison!
I will look for your spot too! Maybe we can post in both.

:idea: ::yes::

And where are the head pics?????

yeah Katie! :snooty:

DH just reminded me of a funny story from years ago. Of course it is about Mikey and he wasn't to thrilled to be reminded of it.

This story goes way back to when Mikey was in the fifth grade. At the time I had left Xerox to start printing my sisters real estate magazine for her. I had one of the best color copy machines ever made, it just happened to be my favorite machine to work on.

So this machine made perfect replica's of anything that it copied (including money so it had a special sensor in it so that service people would know if that had been done). Well Mikey had missed a couple of days of school and had a lot of homework. He also had a homework pass - this meant that if it was stapled to a sheet of homework he just automatically got a 100 on it and it didn't have to be done.

What does my evil genius son do? He went out to my office and made copies of his homework pass. :scared1: Genius, pure genius. Except he turned them all in on the same day! :rotfl2: The teachers said they would have never even noticed they were copies if he hadn't turned them all in at the same time. :sad2:

:lmao: He's SUCH a 'genius', he didn't think to turn them in at different times :lmao: But, ya gotta admit.....good plan :thumbsup2

Well with this super speedy dis I guess I am going to call it a night!

Sleep tight everyone!

Nite!

By the way....what's the new 'last' thing in your sig? (It's just a red "x" right now :confused3 )

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING!

Hey, it's cold again!? It's in the 40's! Any colder and I'll have to look for that darn coat. But at least it's FRIDAY!

Good Morning Fletch and Metro.

Rosie - sending prayers and hugs to you and your dad:hug: :grouphug:

Tricia - loved the bathtub pics.

Lori - Mikeys story about the homework pass sounds like something my DS would do.

Penny - Congrats on 2,000 posts.

:) jennifer

morning all - Happy Friday!!! :dance3:
5.gif

Rose - immediate prayers for dad - please keep us posted :grouphug: :grouphug:

janet - glad to hear nothing is broken - but   for ma and you to get through this thing

lori - the bird poop thing had me :lmao: :lmao:

todd - have a great day off - it is supposed to snow at some point today here.... :headache: not much but I am sure just enough to make Jim's commute home a nightmare - PADOT is so reliable for road clearing - NOT!!!

So finally after weeks and weeks of waiting and playing with our dates we book southwest for our trip April/May. Non stop flights to and from (PHL-MCO), awesome times and not TOO bad a price of 79pp each way. with the 5 of us it came to $895.00

Last night DH gets an email from Airtran - same fight days, little difference in times for 55pp each way - savings of $230.00 for us I have the Web Only fare so there is no way in heck they would refund us, right? Just give a credit if we were to cancel?

This plea is to the DING lords.....PLEASE, PLEASE, DING me for Orlando very soon at your wonderful 49-58 rate???? Did I say please??

got to run for a bit
bean #1 in school already and #2 is grumbling about having to wake up - she needs to be in by 8:45.....

be back later

morning!

rose - so sorry to hear, my thoughts are with you

great pics! tricia - i believe there is an alien in the bath with you DSs:eek: (see little green man floating face down:rotfl: )

hoping for some pics of AKV/Lodge:rolleyes1 ;)

kfed's bro may be sidelined by a storm that's supposed to roll thru PIT this afternoon

lori - funny evil genius story. u r right, i've been waiting for CRV (not too keen on the Kingdom Tower-reminds me of Dark Tower novel by Mr. King:confused: ; vaguely sinister...of course we think the hallways @ WLV have The Shining Vibe going too:laughing: ; wonder if mr King is a secret imagineer?) I'm just blah on it, afraid their will be no studios & we'll be priced out of the market.

barb - thanx, ma will be 78 (has been taking muscle relaxants as part of weekly regimen of pills for years-loosy goosey she is). No interest in trip planning (or should i say whittling down the final tab) @ this point; not even sure if she can be left alone until the dust settles...probably; just in a funk i suppose.

tracie - re AT, we're vets; slowly switching over to SW once all my reward vouchers redeem

so, you're already booked on SW & are thinking of changing to AT but are worried aboout just getting a credit to SW account??

easy to sell the credit on eBay, typically you'll receive nearly 80-90+% of value especially if it has a "long window" before it needs to be used

when listing, don't use the word TICKET or it will get yanked. Once you have confirmed payment, all you need to do is email the buyer the confirmation # & the name on the credit card used for original payment

good luck
