Tell me this ain't odd..... I always thot it would be kewl to be born on Feb. 29 :confused3 ..... only get older every 4 years instead of 'every' :rotfl:

Both DH and DS15 were supposed to be leap year babies. DH was born just a few hours into March first. DS was due on Feb 29th, I went into labor on March 1 (dad's birthday), but he decided to wait for his own and was born a few hours into March 2nd! Weird that he could be turning 4 instead of 16 this year! Be a LOONNGGG wait for that drivers' license! ;)

Okay, back to me.

I want to go to Daytona next week. I need to put everything on hold for 2 days and just be with Brad doing something completely fun. I seriously need it. I won't know until after the doc says whatever he says tomorrow if I can plan for it. Even if I do get to go, I'm getting the layers of guilt here from my mom. The disapproving looks. The disapproving silence. You know what I mean.

Love your first line there! :rotfl:

Tricia - if anyone deserves a break, it's certainly you! And of course you won't go if the doctor says otherwise, but come on folks! It's not just going to a car race; it's getting away from the nitty-gritty and everyday life and realizing that life does go on. And, as you said, with the bills and all - if this is planned, go for it! You don't know what or when you'll be able to do again so you need something to refresh you before that time! Anyone has a problem with it - you tell them to come talk to me! (We'll dump a truckload of snow on their heads! :upsidedow )

But, hey, enough about me for the moment.

Jodie, you have been missed. I love your random ramblings.

Okay, back to me.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So, my mood of late. Here's a good portion of the deal. We have been in the process of negotiating a health insurance plan move with our insurance carrier. We pay for our own insurance. We don't have very many employees and none of them are interested in paying to participate in a plan, so we cover ourselves. With me passing the 40 mark and Brad passing 50, our monthly premiums are through the roof. We were almost to the point of chopping our $2500 per month bill in half when Joshua's hospital trip hit. We were hoping it would go through before the claims were filed, but no go. Red flags all over the place. I'm sure sirens sounded in underwriting. We got a letter yesterday declining our request. Oh, and our premiums are instead going UP $600 per month.

Add that to the already $1100 we have in hospital/medical bills that we'll have to pay out of pocket to cover deductible and our 20% (and all the bills aren't even here yet). Oh, yeah, and we get to see the specialist tomorrow. I'm sure that bill will be quite a tidy sum. You don't go to a Pediatric Neurologist for a small fee.

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! That is unbelievable.

Whenever I mention the trip I get the hairy eyeball or the dead air thing. As if I am so completely selfish that my going off to something as stupid and insignificant as a car race is more important than my child. Puh-leez. If I think for one moment that I need to be here, I'll stay. Duh. I do have my priorities. But, good golly miss molly, this has been a tough year for me and I'd really, really, really like to put reality on hold for 48 hours so my brain can rest. Especially since the money is already spent and we don't know when we'll have playing around money again. KWIM?

Ignore the looks from your mom. I know that is hard but try. You are ,as Ally would put it, the bestest mommy in the world! Besides it isn't selfish, I need to live through you vicariously.

Hey everyone needs a mental break. With all you are dealing with you need one even worse. :wizard:

So, there you have it. My blahs and my pisser moods stem mostly from that. You can add in the worry over Carol, who got her surgical drain and stitches removed yesterday BTW (so, there's some good news) plus the usual day to day drama that is life with 2 small children and the paperwork involved with running your own business.

Yay Carol!!!!!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

In fact, you must prepare yourselves for some pictures. Joshua has his very first school production tonight. The Kindergarten classes are putting on a show about the 5 senses. His class is singing a song all about smells. Should be interesting...

Woo Hoo! Kindergarten programs are the best!

Me = :sick:

Was worse yesterday. And apparently I missed something big...:confused3

 Hope you are feeling better soon.

Why do I not remember this? Was it one of the posts that never showed up for me? Or was it blocked from my memory because my mind if filled with useless stuff like the fact that Peter's mom invented white out? Or maybe it is because I still remember employee numbers from all the people I worked with at Xerox 8 years ago? Ah, who knows?

Anyway, so your sister spelled your name wrong in a wedding gift Tricia?

Doesn't fasting mean you don't eat anything? :confused3

I missed all of this too! Guess I have too much useless info cluttering my brain as well! And both my sisters-in-law (brothers' wives) insist on spelling my name as Marci instead of Marcie. Still - quite a bit different than your own sister doing it!

Catholic definition of "fasting" is that you can eat one meal and two small snacks during the day that can't add up to another meal. You're not supposed to have anything between those, which is the hardest part for me because I'm one of those people who doesn't really do meals as much as "grazes" (to use the toddler word). I'm not sure about beverages - I was taught only water otherwise, but it seems like these days people say any beverages are fine. Not sure - didn't find it in the church bulletin yesterday.

So yesterday I had a banana and hot chocolate for breakfast, a slice of bread and a string cheese for lunch and two slices of pizza for dinner (my meal). Really this isn't that different than what I'd normally have, but I'd probably have about 10 snacks in there - a snickers bar, a handful of sunflower seeds, some beef jerky, cookies, wine and cheese. Yeah, I know - stop whining! All of you on diets do this every day!

Thanks for the clarification Marcie.

Last night at the baseball meeting one of the booster club officers came in late with his ashes. At first I thought he had been working on something and didn't know he had it on his face then finally realized it was for Ash Wednesday.:upsidedow

I knew I forgot something from Jodie's ramblings... and thank you Lori for quoting it (you are so amazing about that!)...

Yes, Jodie, my oldest sister (Susan) sent me a lovely wedding gift. The wine decanter had our last name etched in the glass. One wine glass said "Brad" and one wine glass said "Trisha"...

Lori, that story came from Jodie's wildly popular post on the CB: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1710189

And it wasn't Peter Tork's mom that invented Liquid Paper... it was Michael Nesmith's. I had a crush on Mike, NOT Peter.

Aw shucks. Thanks Tricia. :flower3:

Well that explains it. I'm afraid of the CB!:scared1:

And it wasn't Peter Tork's mom that invented Liquid Paper... it was Michael Nesmith's. I had a crush on Mike, NOT Peter.

Well isn't that amazing. I couldn't even remember my own child's name. or the name that we talked about just a couple of days ago. :scared: I am loosing my mind.

It is Peter Tork, Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz, & Davey Crocket (I mean Jones). I had to look that up. I tried to mix up Peter and Micky's names too.

Hey, stop talking .... back away from the keyboard ..... I am moving a little slow this morning and need extra time to catch up.....

Crud, what was I going to say?

mac, you could teach me how to go back from where I quoted, but I bet I wouldn't get it!

Yes, I am sorry that my "Trisha" message was bit esoteric to those who don't wander over to the CB. Every once in a while I'll complain or ponder about something over there that I don't want to subject you guys too. People always spelling my name wrong is one of them. That happened after one poster on our cruise meet thread asked for a PM from everyone so that she could keep our roster on one page. I am pretty sure I spelled my name right when I gave her our info. Nonetheless, it appears on our cruise roster as Mike and Jodi. UUUUUUGGGGG... I hate that. Happens to me regularly, but that move inspired a CB post. So, TRICIA, not Trisha, thanks for explaining that!

Barb, I'm sorry, the term "left coasters" comes California being extremely liberal or left wing, and my brother lives there. Well, Washington is a pretty liberal state too, adding to coast, and I'd have to look at a map now. I thank you for responding to my ramblings, but I cannot forget to call my brother today!

Todd, I am pretty sure you can tell in my message, but I was glad you made your 7K HERE and not "her." :goodvibes Congrats on your post count!

Tricia, your health insurance sounds like ours. We have a high deductible and then it pays 20% of the bill after the deductible is met. This is a new plan from last year and is the latest of cutbacks in our company. I work for a major national corporation, so you'd think they would be able to negotiate something better than that, but no. When the new plan was announced, we all tried to scramble to find alternatives. We found the only alternative was to not get sick. Hope Joshua's pediatric neurologist bill doesn't hit you too hard, but most importantly, I hope all the news from his visit is all good!

And, oh, I can't wait to see allllllll the pics from the school play about our 5 senses! We need as many as possible, complete with captions!:goodvibes

quick drive by hi:banana: (i knew there i was a reason i liked jennifer;) :thumbsup2 )

had to hit the stash last night, back/neck issues rearing their bad self after dangling upside down in dentists chair:headache: ; now i'm hangin' from the meds-way worse than a drinking hangover.

sharon - thanks for the professional opin:goodvibes ; he lost me too. water's almost gone this am (i always put appliances down there up on a pallet/frame jik even though we live high up on mt), lots of landslides in the area - one knocked a frame house off it's foundation.:confused3 That would be a heck of a way to wake up

barb - that is the sweetest thing to visit the nursing home:hug: . We had to pay bug $ to have MILs done...not a very good job either. She always had long beautiful thick hair she had pulled back. They gave her a bob (against her wishes), broke her spirit.

mic - u caught my tribute:laughing: , i'm just a hopeless old head banger - not to be confused with a banger sister...although i might have to think about it if Sir Mick came knocking on my door:dance3: can't you hearing me knocking on your window...

marci - as for no meat days during lent, one of the few rules i strictly adhere to...even DH (the catholic "social member" as parish priest calls him) knows it won't appear on the menu on the forbodden days. I made (for ma & middle DS broccoli alfredo-bleeech another thing i hate the smell); DH had a salad & french fries & gravy, youngest leftover pizza from night before & fries; i had a peanut butter sandwich. Bought fish to fry, just didn't work out cause DH worked 3 hours over. Least i know Friday's dinner is ready to go:thumbsup2

jodie - axl rose went out on tour (he has the rights to GNR name) several years ago. We took middle DS (in 10th grade I believe @ the time?); waited until midnight until he decided to take the stage....we were entertained for an hour or so before that of shot on the jumbo tron screen of women flashing the crowd...not sure who was more uncomfortable...me or DS. Although, i've overheard him telling his buds "...it was the best concert ever, man..." Chinese Democracy is the long-awaited album still in limbo. My oldest cat is named Axl ;) like his work - not the man - appears to be a homophobe.

fyi, from trolling the cruise board, surprising fact:

Slash:thumbsup2 of GNR has made appearance on DCL ship, complete with wife, nanncy & kids...frequently seen aboard with camcorder & said to be a fan of pirate night.

todd - not going to throw a whoppie pie @ you for 7,000:banana: :dance3: ; how about a

tricia - who said peter, mike nesbitt is the trustfund baby-i liked mickey dolenz the best:cloud9: . You have a lot on your plate, if you can get away go for it (don't cave - i always did lol). Good luck on the insurance, joy of working for yourself i suppose.

lori -my dentist said he was going to go out to the alley behind his office & grab some soot & have his own ceremony. Must sound strange to non-RCs; all about tradition - ashes to ashes (from burnt palms from last palm sunday)

damo -shut the door-quick.

dm - yuck, be well!

mary - we'll need pics to document your absence from the board;)

as for the CB....it's like a snake; sometimes you need to poke it to see if it's alive.popcorn::

Janet, you are priceless. :rotfl:

Thanks for the moral support guys. I promise that if we do get to go next week, I will try not to feel guilty about it.

It doesn't help that the 2 couples we are supposed to be hanging out with at Daytona are all suddenly having issues. Whatever. I have reached the point of not caring. If they go, fine. If they hang out with us, fine. If they don't make it, oh well. Not my problem.

Okay I truly am a brunette but to me it was always because they are on the left side of the US. I guess that is not true for everyone though, is it? :sad2:

I turn left at the highway to go to Disney Land and right to go to Disney World. I guess teh other does make more sense! Oh the things I admit to you guys. :headache:

I dunno, I always thought Left Coast had double meaning: one because west/left and another because liberal = left. I don't want to get anyone upset or confused by drunken and then hungover ramblings of an unnatural blonde.

You're right. I typed it wrong. We have to pay 20% once the deductible is met. They pay 80% -- I told you I was hungover and moving a little slow!!!

Now, what else can I talk about? Who would like to hear about our behavior issues with Savannah? Anyone? Bueller? C'mon ..... you know my cat stories are as exciting as your kid stories .... poop, hissing, biting, being a bully to siblings .... I could go on. Let me know when you're ready.

:lmao: Very funny! When I am stuck working Saturday night into Sunday morning, that is an extremely slow time at work. I can't tell you how many hours I have spent passively reading (never responding) to the stories people post there. It is HOURS of entertainment!

Oh but we love your ramblings. Drunken or not!

I am so glad you pay 20%. Couldn't figure out why anyone would pay for health insurance coverage if all it paid was 20%. I was a little worried aboutcha!

Yes, we do want to hear the Savannah stories, at least I do. Is she still mad at you for having her de-clawed?

Hey can anyone tell me why Ally's dog comes in from being outside and immediately squats to pee in my floor???????????????? Dumb dog.
