Good Morning All!:) :cool1:

Marcie - get those boys up.;)

God has blessed us with another day - enjoy!:flower3:

:)

Marcie - not Catholic. I have 2 coworkers who are, and they were talking about what they were giving up for Lent. Do you practice no meat during all of Lent? Around here, it's just no meat on Fridays during Lent. Also, is there no alcolhol allowed during Lent? I don't think my area practices this either.

Anyhoo - we are tolerant and will pick restaurants on Fridays so that our Catholic coworkers can still enjoy a meal, but a meatless meal.

Jodie - enjoyed your ramblings last night.;)

Tricia - hope you wake up in a better mood today. If not, dig out the rum and coke again.;)

Mac, Marcie, Sharon, Penny - hope you are not snowed in too bad this morning. Evidently, only the temps dropped here, but no snow yet. (This is fine with me.):)

Enjoy your day everyone! Be back tonight to read Barb's story. (This seems like a repeat - but Brab did not post yet, so I will repeat until she posts.)

:) Jennifer

Woot! Congratulations, Todd, you must be wicked proud! And we're wicked honored you chose her to post your 7K ... unlike Barb who was afraid her 10K would get lost in here .... I'm just saying.

Yeah, the rule is no meat on Fridays, but also fasting on Ash Wednesday (yesterday) and Good Friday. And no meat then either. The meat thing isn't a big deal at all for me - more in just trying to plan meals that the kids will eat. And we'll be traveling out to Boston on Good Friday - that'll just be a great time to be trying to fast and find airport meals without meat!

And my kids have a half day tomorrow so I was going to go out to lunch with them. Same problem - where can we go where they'll eat something (besides pizza)?

Oh - and still no snow here! Can't believe Chicago, Milwaukee, and even Sheboygan (an hour from us) got dumped on so bad and we got maybe a dusting! But I'm not complaining if anyone's wondering! ;)

*knock*knock*

That is me knocking on wood....we haven't had anything yet, the little we had so far this winter didn't need to be shoveled and it was gone by morning :scared1:

this would be weird if we didn't get any.....but you watch......we're going to get socked with some of that junk soon :sad2: and it will be like the storm of the century type stuff

I just want you to know that I am not jealous and you can keep all of your snow just in case you were thinking of shipping some my way.

Ditto ..... what she said ;)

well, i could ask mr mac about the catholic thing and meat.

Marcie explained the meat thing....

Did Mr. get his flight home??

Crud, are you kidding me? I have to catch up with like 837 pages. Well, slap my bottom and watch my fat jiggle......

think i'll leave that to Mike :rolleyes1 ....altho, if you are GOING TO THE GYM ;) why is there 'jiggly' stuff?? hhhmmmmmm......

I think it's soooooo sweet that you have a Valentines' Baby, Alison! I wish I were born on Valentines Day. Ok, I wish I were born on Halloween, but a Valentines' Baby must bring fond memories to you and your hubby!

Tell me this ain't odd..... I always thot it would be kewl to be born on Feb. 29 :confused3 ..... only get older every 4 years instead of 'every' :rotfl:

Wait! I CAN'T STOP MAKING THESE POSTS ALL ABOUT ME!!!!! I'M SORRY!

That's okay....we understand your need

actually.....it would have been in the first house and been archived.....and, now we got evicted anyway...so i'm glad i DID give it it's OWN home...so there! :snooty: :p

(BTW, Brab ahahahaha that was somewhere in the thread, though I don't know where and haven't figured out why ... did you watch the Watch What Happens with the Desperate Housewives of the OC with Andy Cohen? We are totally going to have to chat about that.), and I am going to watch that now if I don't fall asleep before it's over.

Don't we have any left coasters? Speaking of left coasters, Happy Birfday to my most darling angry liberal brother, Brian. I hate you, but I love you, KWIM?

Nope...didn't see it....wasn't aware it was on...I usually catch them on a Sunday while home... :confused3 Maybe I'll go searching for it.....

Can you please explain what a "left coaster" is? :confused3 ...or are were you slightly inhibited and meant "coasters left"? :rolleyes1

Happy Birthday Brian!!

..... talking about what they were giving up for Lent.

Enjoy your day everyone! Be back tonight to read Barb's story. (This seems like a repeat - but Brab did not post yet, so I will repeat until she posts.)

I think I'll give up vacation for Lent... yeah...that seems good.

I'm going to try to get my story done while getting my oil changed today....

thanks.... a little slow this morning.... (ya know, i don't think we DO have many west coast peeps on these boards...either that....or they all hang at the DL board :confused3 )

ditto :guilty:

I didn't even get to SC last trip because of the last big snowstorm.

Here's a pic out my front door this morning. I had already shovelled 30 cm of snow before I went to bed and this is what I wake up to this morning.

DSC01831.jpg

Now the snowblower is out of gas and I have to shovel to go get some gas. I think I'll just wait for it to melt again. DH must be laughing his head off down in SC.

Anyone know how Lawrence's wife is doing???

i don't know about his wife...but he is not coming back :sad2:

Well, slap my bottom and watch my fat jiggle......

Okay, I said my favorite was "Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit"... but Jodie might have just given me a new favorite. :rotfl:

If we ever got a tag fairy around here, I would scream for him/her to tag you with that one! But, alas, we are the red headed step-children of the DIS.

I keep trying to throw that phrase around on the CB. I seriously want "we are the red headed step-children of the DIS" for a tag. I would love to wipe out the one that reminds me of the hair growing out of my forehead, but if I did that, I'd wipe out Elmer too. I wanna keep Elmer, so I'm stuck.

But, hey, enough about me for the moment.

Jodie, you have been missed. I love your random ramblings.

Okay, back to me.

So, my mood of late. Here's a good portion of the deal. We have been in the process of negotiating a health insurance plan move with our insurance carrier. We pay for our own insurance. We don't have very many employees and none of them are interested in paying to participate in a plan, so we cover ourselves. With me passing the 40 mark and Brad passing 50, our monthly premiums are through the roof. We were almost to the point of chopping our $2500 per month bill in half when Joshua's hospital trip hit. We were hoping it would go through before the claims were filed, but no go. Red flags all over the place. I'm sure sirens sounded in underwriting. We got a letter yesterday declining our request. Oh, and our premiums are instead going UP $600 per month.

Add that to the already $1100 we have in hospital/medical bills that we'll have to pay out of pocket to cover deductible and our 20% (and all the bills aren't even here yet). Oh, yeah, and we get to see the specialist tomorrow. I'm sure that bill will be quite a tidy sum. You don't go to a Pediatric Neurologist for a small fee.

I want to go to Daytona next week. I need to put everything on hold for 2 days and just be with Brad doing something completely fun. I seriously need it. I won't know until after the doc says whatever he says tomorrow if I can plan for it. Even if I do get to go, I'm getting the layers of guilt here from my mom. The disapproving looks. The disapproving silence. You know what I mean. Whenever I mention the trip I get the hairy eyeball or the dead air thing. As if I am so completely selfish that my going off to something as stupid and insignificant as a car race is more important than my child. Puh-leez. If I think for one moment that I need to be here, I'll stay. Duh. I do have my priorities. But, good golly miss molly, this has been a tough year for me and I'd really, really, really like to put reality on hold for 48 hours so my brain can rest. Especially since the money is already spent and we don't know when we'll have playing around money again. KWIM?

So, there you have it. My blahs and my pisser moods stem mostly from that. You can add in the worry over Carol, who got her surgical drain and stitches removed yesterday BTW (so, there's some good news) plus the usual day to day drama that is life with 2 small children and the paperwork involved with running your own business.

I'll get over it.

In fact, you must prepare yourselves for some pictures. Joshua has his very first school production tonight. The Kindergarten classes are putting on a show about the 5 senses. His class is singing a song all about smells. Should be interesting...

Awww. School productions make me cry.

Me = :sick:

Was worse yesterday. And apparently I missed something big...:confused3

Take care of yourself DM.

Mike tells me his Valentine's present this year to me is going to be that he's starting his Chantix. I will be asking for your love and support during those times as I think it may be as difficult for him as it is for me. But, wait, this post isn't about me. Alison, you have a beautiful family. :goodvibes Did you have a good day at work?

:grouphug: :wizard: and Mummy Dust too. You are going to need it. Good luck to Mike.

I forgot what I was going to say ... sorry. This post did strike me for a reason... I'm failing to remember it now....

Ok, I have to give up for now because I keep clicking on the same page, forgetting that I already clicked on it and responded, and my most dear husband did in fact tape tonight's episode of Project Runway for me (BTW, Brab ahahahaha that was somewhere in the thread, though I don't know where and haven't figured out why ... did you watch the Watch What Happens with the Desperate Housewives of the OC with Andy Cohen? We are totally going to have to chat about that.), and I am going to watch that now if I don't fall asleep before it's over.

You are so funny! Thanks for making me smile today!

PS. Tricia (Trisha?), Did your sister really spell your name wrong on your wedding gift? Really? Your own sister?

Why do I not remember this? Was it one of the posts that never showed up for me? Or was it blocked from my memory because my mind if filled with useless stuff like the fact that Peter's mom invented white out? Or maybe it is because I still remember employee numbers from all the people I worked with at Xerox 8 years ago? Ah, who knows?

Anyway, so your sister spelled your name wrong in a wedding gift Tricia?

love jodie's ramblings.
puts me in a good mood for the day..

jodie: i can tell you how to go back to where you last read after you post a quote on a thread.
:teacher:

I love them too. Feeling a little down today and she put a smile on my face.

Would you please tell me how to do that too? It has to be easier then quoting everything and then trying to reply to it all at once. :headache:

What woman wouldn't want to just get older every 4 years? Nothing odd about that to me. Of course that is now that I am supposedly a grown up. Oh wait, that would zalso mean only getting presents every 4 years too! Well they better be good ones! ;)

That's okay....we understand your need

::yes::

I think I'll give up vacation for Lent... yeah...that seems good.

That is not a good idea. Unless of course you weren't going on vacation during lent anyway. Then it would be okay. Just don't give up the July one for lent.

I didn't even get to SC last trip because of the last big snowstorm.

You didn't get to go last time?:scared1: Stinkin snow! I hate that stuff. I hate the cold. I especially hate the wind. Does anyone know where I can move that doesn't get any of the above?????

Just in case you didn't see it before I do not want any of your snow.

Have a great day everyone!
