So am I wrong they feel like some threads should be killed cause they don't either like them or some people post too much

i always invite people to come to threads where i post.
i only post in about 5 clique threads but i always say they are not clique threads.....kwim??

i just want to spread the love.......


you cross paths with so many nice people on the boards, why not make a thread where you can gather as homies then?

when i grow up, i want to develop more clique boards and threads.

the test thread is one of the mega ones but they started back in july of 03.
going on 5 years....


we have not have the slowness of the dis boards until recently.
there have been many mega threads on in the past years and it didn't effect the ability for timely postings before.

btw, i still have hesitations when i try to post.
it's not all over for me yet.

The board speed is MUCH improved. I don't know if it's the mega threads that are causing it but it's much better now.

if the dis owners state that each thread has a limited number of pages allowed, we can continue with something about nothing by making part 2,3,4,5,......... as the situation arises.

i don't have a problem with that in a way

I'm on another message board that does that...cuts threads after so many pages and it's not a big deal.

tricia, i joke about some of my threads are clique threads but they really are not. all newbies are welcomed kindly on the Chicago thread, Test thread, something about nothing and others i post on.

this is the main reason i talked to the mods about allowing us to have a "chat" thread in the UO forums. if i had to create a thread there in the CB for universal chit chat, we would have endured bashing and rudeness.
i am grateful that both mods liked my proposal.
it is a very happy feeling for me to be able to get to know all of you.
i like this extended family of ours...

a clique is when a group excludes others. we are a group of homies that likes everyone and plays nice all the time. every month i have tried to post all are welcomed in this thread. i would never be rude and exclude any poster.

i'm not going to post on that thread where friction is going to erupt soon.
gee, one look at my scrolling tag and i'll be yelled at.
i have enough action going on in my life, don't want to add to it this weekend.

I agree. Everyone on the CB today that was posting about "long threads" and "clique threads" were saying that if putting a page or post number cap on them helped the boards move better, then that was great.

It's just the "we hate those long/clique threads" and the "move them to a separate board" stuff that I don't get. Is it really that much of a hassle to scroll past threads that don't interest you? Is it really ruining your overall CB experience for groups of people to get to know each other on a thread?

I don't get it. I just don't get it. Why beat something down just because it annoys you?

Okay, I'm done. Deep calming breath. Brad will be home soon, so I better go check the roast in the slow cooker.

Exactly. Wouldn't we clutter up "their" boards if we spread our chatter out all over the place? Isn't it better to have it contained to a few threads that they can ignore?
